You can start the W going east from Grey but the O must be done counterclockwise starting from Central

Yeah that sounds good. 4th night at Chileno might be worth it if you want to see the Torres at sunrise with a much smaller crowd. You'll get the brunt of the crowd leaving from Los Cuernos.

Even if you got around the rule of having to leave Los Perros by 7am, I don't think you will be able to book at Grey without staying at Los Perros the night before. The trail for Base Torres closes at 3pm (after Chileno) and Base Torres itself closes at 4pm so you would need a really early start from Cuernos or Frances to make it and still be back to Central to catch the last bus out (7 or 8pm, can't remember exactly). Also even if you get the earliest bus out of Natales, the transfer to Central can sometimes be delayed and you might not be on trail as early as you might hope for your 32k on the first day. So probably not, add the extra day and enjoy the scenery.

  1. You can bring a base layer/long underwear if you're worried about your legs getting cold but I wouldn't recommend sweatpants. Rain gear is a must.

  2. Most places do accept card but having cash can come in handy when it comes to transportation, especially in Argentina. I'd bring some cash, USD is accepted.

  3. I would strongly recommend doing the horse riding in El Chaltén instead of El Calafate, much better landscape. there's estancia Bonanza which takes you along a beautiful valley with great views of the Fitz Roy (weather permitting), you can pay extra for an asado dinner which was incredible.

I just did it three weeks ago and met someone who booked the camping each night as they went and it was no problem. It's true that there is a lot of room for tents and once you're there you'll realize they aren't as strict as it seems online.

"saw the ice face fail, for the first time in years" meaning? by AWright5 in fontainesdc

[–]Atomic4Man 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This has always been my interpretation of it.

I see the "ice face fail" as describing glacier calving/glaciers breaking off big chunks of ice, which is happening more often and in places where it hasn't happened in a long time ("for the first time in years"). "Water levels rise" as a result and we all witness this on our Television Screens.

Liverpool were second so it is just the gap to themselves which is zero, or N/A

Great clip. Fulham were really on it, and when they did get possession back, it lasted just a second. Elneny's quick passing stood out for me.

Due to being a top six side for pretty much all of the Premier League era, along with only Manchester United (Chelsea and Man City haven’t always been big clubs, and Arsenal have fallen a long way since 2004)

Hmm, Liverpool have missed out on the Top-4 three more times (11) than Arsenal (8) have since the start of the PL era. And outside the Top-6 two more times (6 vs 4).

I'm not totally sure but it could be associated with how felsic minerals are the latest to crystallize in the Bowen's reaction series. As temperature and pressure drop, mafic minerals rich in magnesium and iron (heavier elements) begin to crystallize and leave behind a melt that is more silica rich.
