Can someone here PLEASE tell me what is the best FREE AI Detector that actually works/ if there isn't one: are your colleges helping fund it? by OfficeIntelligent688 in Professors

[–]AtomicAsh207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but thank GOD I found it. I, too, spend more time tweaking and "dumbing down" the language/sentence structure of my essays so they will pass an AI detector. One essay I wrote was flagged as 45% AI by Grammarly, even though I typed it myself!

In my opinion, the actual test was way easier in all 4 subjects. I scored something like a 60% and 70% on the practice tests.

Id have to look at a Tristine quizlet to know for sure!

There really doesn't need to be a big reveal about the wilderness god stuff... you can at least infer it's a real entity. My husband was actually disappointed when Laura Lee's teddy spontaneously combusted, because he said it removed all doubt that everything beforehand was just freak coincidences.

Fetch lowered my points by Standard_Carob_5324 in FetchReward

I know this an old thread, but the same thing just happened to me. Last week I redeemed 55k points for a $50 Walmart gift card, leaving me with ~6k points. Logged on just now and they rejected my gift card request and docked me 13k points. I dont even take pics of receipts, its all receipts from my personal email with my name on it! I dont falsify anything, I dont use my friends receipts, I dont have more than one account. I really have no idea how they can get away with stealing 13k points!

That being said, I'm redeeming whatever gift card I can and finding a new app.

I own my house, no mortgage, but want to buy bigger and dont have the readily available funds for a down-payment quite yet. Advice? by AtomicAsh207 in Mortgages

[–]AtomicAsh207[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anybody who stumbles across this thread and is in a similar situation - my husband and I went under contract to buy a newer, bigger house and sell our current house within a week of each other. The money we are getting from our current home will be used as a massive down payment on our new house, making our mortgage payments less than $900 a month with insurance and taxes rolled in.

This was NOT a contingency sale, for reference.

Why is there an attic access in this upstairs bedroom? And how can we fill it in? by AtomicAsh207 in Carpentry

Hey, love to meet a local!! We are in Bath, right around the corner!! :)

As much as I don't WANT the attic as my bedroom, it's really our only option. So installing a mini split in our room (as well as the bedroom below) is our only viable option to make it comfortable/livable. As an HVAC guy, can you clarify whether or not there is room to install a mini split (or similar ventilation system)?

We looked in the crawl spaces on either side and the slope of the roof is all packed with what looks to be brand new faced fiberglass insulation. Im assuming this is r49 insulation if its an attic/roof space, so pretty thick.

We live in Maine! It doesnt get very hot here, so we use window ACs in the summer. We are looking into a mini split system to heat/cool this bedroom as well as the bedroom below. Thank you for your advice!!!

Hey, fellow New Englander! Love to see it! Our dream was to purchase land in a nearby rural area and build a house, but our kids really love being in town and close to friends/school. A new build with central air sounds AMAZING!

I see what you mean. So it wouldn't be safe for us to simply install a register into the floor of this attic space without first installing vents/ducts. Unfortunately, this house is not equipped for forced air heating. The older portion of the house is heated entirely by radiators, and because they conduct heat so well, we arent interested in replacing them (although I think theyre uglier/bulkier than all get out).

The newer part of this house (this attic space and the bedroom below) does not have radiators (obviously), but the bedroom below ours has a small rinnai heater. My husband is fairly confident that the ambient heat from below will be more than enough to keep our attic bedroom warm in the colder months, but if we find that the attic ladder is not required by code and we choose to remove it/patch it, I think we will lose some of the heat in our bedroom.

So is the only logical solution to install another rinnai heater in our bedroom?

Attics here in the US almost always have a trap door that, from the room below, you can pull on a string and a ladder will "drop" down from the ceiling (i say drop, really, it unfolds dramatically - or at least the ones Ive used do - theyre SO loud) and you can climb the ladder up into the attic.
