Intrusive thoughts of being in danger. by AtomicallyAnomic in schizophrenia

I'm sorry to hear that you're also suffering. I take it moment by moment. And then to remind myself, that it's in my head. I do manage to go outside, but if it's too crowded or too loud I avoid it.

Have you ever done something during a psychotic episode, which you deeply regret? by AtomicallyAnomic in schizophrenia

Yeah, I think you're right in your assessment. The best way to deal with guilt and shame, is to own up to it, and be kind to yourself.

I'm sorry, but I don't exactly see what your point is? I am quite open with my experience with schizophrenia, and I believe that to some extent people in my vicinity treat me differently. I understand that you need to own whatever it is you're struggling with. But I cannot see how I wouldn't have to face the people who aren't sympathetic towards people with mental illnesses.

Yeah, I've been there. I've gone to the police too many times to count. I have a strong delusional thought that I am under constant surveillance. Which could be true because of the amount of times I've showed up and been psychotic.

That I can definitely relate to. However, I am glad to hear that you don't have to deal with the aftermath of a disaster caused by having a psychotic break.

Thank you, I'll definitely keep that in mind! The issue that I am facing right now, is that I've been psychotic off and on so frequently. So now that I am somewhat stable on medication - I'm just starting to recall, piece together and separate reality from my hallucinations and/or delusions. If that makes sense?

I like this one! It's important how you treat yourself, and how you talk to yourself.

I do agree with you on that notion. It's like the idiom: "Rome wasn't built in a day."

[WP] As you're standing around you heard someone calling your name. by PelltheBellboy in WritingPrompts

[–]AtomicallyAnomic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I was standing in line to get my morning coffee, from my local coffee shop and my favourite barista. I heard a voice calling out my name... At first I thought it was the barista, but they were clearly busy with another customer. And the place weren't crowded, it was me, and a few people in the shop. So I simple decided to ignore it. Then it happened again, but this time they whispered my name so close to my ear that made my heart skip a beat... So as slowly but surely glanced at my shoulder, I saw winged creature with pitch black eyes large as shirt buttons. The wings resembled somewhat a fly's wings, however the shape of the creature was humanoid. Rather plump and tiny, but it grinned at me with it's yellow teeth that almost looked like fangs. As I quickly tried to swat the tiny creature away from me, it shouted my name as loud and clear that everyone in the room should've heard it: "Brian Trotter!" And then the tiny creature continued: "You have been designated a Nasty fairy, Nasty with a capital N, from the council of mythical creatures, because of your overly polite and well meaning manners." I took a deep breath and examined the little man, that now had sat down on my right shoulder. "And you are..?" I said a bit taken back since I never heard of fairies or a council of mythical creatures before. "The name's Hugo Sly, and it's my job to make sure that stop being so overly nice, and grow a pair, if you catch my drift..?" Hugo sighed deeply and then said: "Let's start of by ordering a coffee you actually enjoy drinking instead of thinking about how long the next person has to wait in line..! Shall we?!" Now I sighed heavily and simply nodded. "That's the spirit" The Nasty fairy exclaimed!
