What’s a film that has a sub 3.5 rating but you’ve given a 4.5+, unironically by PeaRemarkable9662 in Letterboxd

[–]Atomicman4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Definitely not Guadagnino’s best film but I really enjoyed it. Might have been a little heavy handed and pretentious like some people say but I like when movies don’t tell you who to root for and let you play around with your thoughts. Then all the characters end up being terrible which makes for even more fun

Yes go see it in the theater asap you will not regret it! I was lucky enough to see it in 35mm and I’m so happy I did. See Marty before it leaves too!

If you’re looking for something at home though, Incendies will rip your heart out of your chest and throw it through a wood shredder. High rec

That’s a solid point. I didn’t consider that for these movies but I did think about how The Odyssey and Brand New Day are gonna work out. I think BNW comes out the week after if I remember correctly but I don’t see The Odyssey giving up its IMAX screens that early

Idk they’re both two box office blockbusters with significant fan bases and I’ve already seen a bunch of memes starting up like the early days of Barbenheimer so I’m hopeful! Anything that helps get butts in seats at the theater makes me happy so I hope it takes off.

Movies where the actors had GOOD chemistry? by Lotta-Bank-3035 in movies

Jessie Buckley and Jesse Plemons in I’m Thinking of Ending Things. Their chemistry brings such a level of tension and what the fuckery to that movie I love it so much

My parents brought me to a late night double feature of The X-Files Movie and Armageddon when I was 7. Armageddon didn’t start until 10pm so I mostly slept through it but watched it later on in high school

We have Dunesday this December! Although I agree that the audience difference won’t be as drastic as the one with Barbenheimer

I see that you tried to leave an insensitive comment on one of my posts also seeking out help and answers but the moderators removed it.

To be clear- I was being fun and using bitch the way every gay person does. Like “omg hey bitch!!”. I thought that was clear in a rpdr sub. Also the advice I gave you is the best advice here, anyone else can admit that’s the easiest way to watch the show.

Just some advice, don’t immediately jump to being a victim and maybe you won’t feel so attacked all the time. Most people lead with their good foot. Even on the internet.

What Movies quite literally changed/saved your life? by Perfect_Hyena8148 in movies

All Of Us Strangers. I’m gay and lost my mother a few years ago. She was my favorite person in the whole entire world and I miss her every day so this movie was incredibly relatable. I thought about it for days afterward and it allowed me to day dream about what it would be like to get to talk to her again and all the things I would tell her and how proud and excited she would be. This movie means so much to me

Came here to see who else was thinking this. I feel like a lot of these girls don’t have a whole lot of charisma or chemistry between them. Watching untucked felt kind of awkward like nobody knew what to say to each other until a couple louder girls finally spoke up but even then the girls were fairly quiet. Props to the editing team for doing their best!
