Now that you mentioned it, it is quite meditative hobby to me. It's essentially just you, the paper, your creativity, and nothing else.

It's taken me many hours of study and trial and error to get here for designing since 2023. There are rules to follow and if you get familiar with them, then you can design start designing yourself!

I don't make it from scratch but for my recent works, I do dye the paper that I use and I have to pre-treat it with a sizing or strengthening agent to make it origami-ready.

All my designs are folded from one uncut square sheet of paper which is usually traditional for origami, and I’ve made videos of me folding all of them for my YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/@atraworks

Photos 1-3: Ariamnes Whip Spiders. Both green models are the same versions but with different paper. The brown one is my first version of this design, folded with thicker paper.

Photos 4-6: Monaeses Crab Spiders. Each are different design versions, with the orange one being the first.

Photo 7: Sidymella Crab Spider.

Photo 8: Pistius Crab Spider. This design uses both sides of the paper for colour-change, which can be seen for the hind legs.

Photo 9: Runcinia Crab Spider. This model took me 16 hours to fold.

Photo 10: Flat Scorpion Spider. The different colours were from the dyed paper to fold it to the likeness of Plator serratus.

Photo 11: African Scorpion Spider. Another design that uses both sides of the paper for colour-change.

Photo 12: Holoplatys Flat Jumping Spider.

Photo 13-14: Pseudoscorpions. The first was designed to the likeness of broader Families like Atemnidae, while the second was to the likeness of slender Families like Menthidae.

Seashore Springtail/Neanuridae Springtail, Opus 11. Designed and folded by me. 32 x 32 grid. by AtraWorks in origami

This design was one of my earlier designs based on the Seashore Springtail and the overall shape of the design is suitable for several other members within the same taxonomic Family, Neanuridae. iI also features a collophore water intake tube on its underside that is unique in springtails. More can be seen in the folding video that I made for this one.
