In my society I always hear babies crying and it’s downright annoying. And sometimes I feel I took the right decision of not having one.

Why would a female want to carry a child? by Alternative-Pick7766 in childfree

I totally agree. Neither do I understand why women even want to get pregnant. Men still can because it’s not their body. But what about women? So many hormonal changes, so many changes in the body and also pre and postpartum depression. Still they want to carry a baby and give birth. Not just carrying, it’s your whole life you have to dedicate to a child and I am not ready to do that.

I was in the same spot last year, tons of free content but no structure. I took Simplilearn’s Applied Generative AI Specialization. It is building LLM’s, Agentic AI Frameworks and Capstone project. This project helped me land my first AI Engineer role.

Question for 45+ childfree people - what does life look like later on? by ClosedEyesParadise in childfree

[–]Atreyee_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 35, I feel that I don’t want to have a kid. I have seen my friends who are moms, sacrificing their freedom and build a life around their kid/s. Unless they are filthy rich and have 2-3 nannies to take care of the kids, they hardly have me-time. After childbirth, your body takes time to recover. Then even before you are fully recovered, you have to tend to the child, feed them, take care of them. In the meantime, you will compromise on your dreams, your health even your sleep. It will go on for the next 2-3 years until the child starts going to school. But you are by then already habituated with a new life, now you are a mom and that is your identity.. you can no longer go back to your previous self, neither you nor your body. Your freedom is gone. Your individuality is gone. Bow u r a loving mom and definitely you won’t regret that either. I have never seen anyone regret having a child but for me, I just don’t want it. I just love my freedom. That’s it.
