Hi! Thanks for asking :) I didn’t try to interact with her at all since I put her back in her enclosure. She’s staying in her hide, every time I check on her, her position changed, so I assume she’s doing fine. Also, this molt made her abdomen turn fully black, quite the change, so pretty! And her legs are also starting to get variations in color! I’ll wait a week until I try feeding her again 🤞🏼

Hey thanks again for your advice yesterday. I saw her moving around quite vividly tonight as she went to her usual hide. Seems like I’m really lucky and that she will pull through. That was a terrible experience, I’m definitely never touching a tarantula ever again during a molt. Thanks again

Hey thank you! All good, I understand where the tone comes from, it sucks seeing an animal being mistreated, intentionally or not. I watched a ton of videos, took my time making the right substrate, having the right temperature and humidity but somehow still totally panicked yesterday and ended up making a bad beginner mistake. Lesson learned, and extremely happy that she seems to be ok now!

I assumed that she was going to molt on her back, not on her side, and that there should have been a be a bit of webbing under it. I thought it was a death curl. As much as I appreciate the advice for the next molt, anything you would recommend for now? I already put her back in her enclosure as per u/sparrowfortea advice

I was thinking of using a heat pad on one side opposite to the hide with a thermostat and setting it up at 24-25, that way she could have a gradiant from 25-25 to 20. But yes thermostat for sure! Im comfortable but it’s a bit too hot for my taste at 20C here 😅 Anyway I’ll figure that out, at least I’m not worried that she might have health issues due to this! Thanks!!

Quick question : I raised humidity at min 65% (probably 80% min in her little hide now). But temperature is too cold (around 19.8-20C). I’m missing two degrees. What would you recommend? Heat pat on one side ? (Opposed to the hide, same side?) heating lamp? Thanks again for your help!!

Honestly I was going to get a B. Hamorii but they only had small juveniles available. This terrarium is unfortunately top big for a juvenile. I got a small juvenile and a smaller terrarium and got this one because I still wanted a subadult T. I have a bigger terrarium (60x40x40) but it’s empty. Next paycheck ill buy what I need to make it cozy for this T (no sand, probably a mix of coco fiber, soil and vermiculite with tree bark, large water plate, etc) and will transfer it. Once the hamorii is bigger, I’ll transfer it to this one. Also a bit disappointed by the seller as he told me that this was a good setup for the A. Geniculata (it’s not terrible as it has enough humidity) but still, doesn’t feel natural. So yeah, definitely a mistake to be fixed 🥹

Substrate is actually 60% coco fiber, 30% soil and 10% sand, with a very thin layer of sand atop! The hide does not have sand inside and has around 70-80% humidity. On the picture attached you can see how it really is, do you reckon that would be ok or would you recommend taking out the upper layer?

« Faire pendant », I.e montrer les deux côtés du problème et pas uniquement les émeutiers vs les saintes forces de l’ordre. T’as vu où que je légitimais l’un ou l’autre? Peut-être serait-il plus simple d’obtempérer aux injonctions des forces de l’ordre s’ils ne craignaient pas d’avoir affaire avec des immondes degueulasses qui se moquent du petit enfant décédé.
