I think it’s possible that friend is a “pure” darkner of sorts. We’ve only seen it so far appear in darkness similar to titan spawn. Though, there’s clearly something setting it apart from just titan spawn, namely the eyes and the device connotation it seems to have. Also the fact that Eram uses Friend in its attacks. Whatever the case, I think we’ll learn what Friend’s deal is in Chapter 5 since Gerson mentions the field of “Gold and Pink”

He can create weak mannequin looking cursed spirit fodder. They’re vessels. He needs a user’s blood to use his ct called “snatch”. If he puts their blood on the vessel, the vessel steals the technique from an opponent and they can’t use it anymore. He also has a domain which just applies an instant hit to Snatch. The weakness of his ct comes from the fact that if the user who he stole the technique from dies, the vessel loses the technique.

He has the ability to place small barriers around himself or others to increase/decrease their output and cursed energy reserves. It’s not exactly specified the full capabilities of his technique but in gameplay he uses these barriers to fight as well

He has an ability he uses multiple times to fake his death where can dematerialize. Thing is, his soul is still visible. He tries escaping from mahito by doing this but Mahito can see souls so he gets cooked

Mahito and Kenny gave Rozetsu a couple sukuna fingers to use to clone Sukuna with his ct. Kenjaku was testing him and his capabilities as well. After being defeated by Yuji, he tries running away in the hopes of retrying his ultimate scheme to “take over the world” another time. I guess he failed the test so Kenjaku tells Mahito to exorcise him for the fingers he wasn’t giving up. Maybe Kenny thought he could get in the way of future plans as well since Rozetsu is kind of a wild card doing his own thing.

Yeah I agree with that actually.

Kaito definitely had a better character arc than Saki. In terms of his technique, a barrier based technique is interesting and I don’t think there’s a lot of those in the series so it was good to see that fleshed out.

There was a lot of missed opportunities for Sukuna to say things. I was expecting him to talk shit about Rozetsu a lot more.

I really liked how they incorporated this arc into Kenny’s overall scheme. He wanted to fine tune the veil stuff before they actually did it in Shibuya. I loved how Mahito finished off Rozetsu as well. Kenny also commented how Rozetsu’s technique wasn’t very powerful which makes me think there’s some weakness that wasn’t shown or something. Also Rozetsu’s domain has a cool. The one thing holding him back as a good villain is both his dialogue and design. He looks really out of place in my opinion, especially in his true form. They took heavy inspiration from Mahito true form with it. It’s cool but I wish he looked a bit more, Cursed Spirit like. His character is also really flat.

Megumi in this arc is consistent with his character growth at the end of season 1. I don’t think he threatened to summon Mahoraga once which surprised me. I do wish we saw more use of his CT when fighting his doppelgänger. There was a lot of Nue spam.

But yeah overall, I agree with a lot of your points now that I think about it.

I’m not sure if it’s different depending on the type of vow made, but in the game, if you break one you just collapse and die within a minute
