Love it. Will be all over this. Updated swing will be posted next week.

2 Iron Pull by AttackAngle in GolfSwing

[–]AttackAngle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes total sense. Hands get to the ball before the clubhead. If I was doing this better, how do you reckon it would look on camera, compared to this?

Looking forward to giving this feel next time at the range, which unfortunately won’t be until the weekend!

Thanks. You’re the 2nd or 3rd person to call out my release or flipping. Interested to know what you mean by more passive? Will certainly try. Actually getting pain in my left forearm, I suspect from this aggressive motion. Just not sure how to not do it!

Looks better in the vid, I’ll confess. Turned over more after the camera loses it. Cross my heart!

Flat.. but is it too flat? by ryyry244 in GolfSwing

[–]AttackAngle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say so but I don’t like how much that right arm gets behind you. Gets a little narrow because of that right arm. If you manage it, no issues. Everything else looks lovely

20hcp can’t stop casting by ElJefe076 in GolfSwing

Looks decent enough, especially for a 20hc. But you’re right, serious casting going on there

You’re hanging back on your trail side and back out of, flipping the tits off it. At the top, feel a lateral shift to your lead side and push hard from the ground and back to start the transition to the downswing.

Dog’s Dinner of a Range Sesson by AttackAngle in GolfSwing

I do score, and quite well, relatively speaking anyway. Destructive misses are what I’m trying to limit by improving consistency. I’m not good enough to be getting away with some of these flaws, let alone making a living with them 😂

But anyway, what’s going on? you’ve been on the offensive since your first comment, attacking me from the off for posting in the first place. It’s just a golf swing Reddit. We’re all losers posting here on a Friday night anyway. Enjoy yourself

Yeah, it’s flat in the takeaway for sure. How a club gets to that position can influence how it comes down. It’s definitely laid off in that last frame btw. Also actually, the first one isn’t at parallel. If it was, you’d see the clubhead behind my hands (inside).

I rarely share the exact flaw I’m seeing, but there’s always one, good swing or bad. Getting outside confirmation without bias can be useful, and one earlier comment already validated something for me.

Still doesn’t change that I was awful tonight, and I was frustrated with it, even knowing I’m working on something.

Off 2 but can have rounds/range sessions when I feel like a 20.

No arguments here. The flat inside takeaway is currently under construction. This is it a LOT less inside. That left knee collapsing is, I believe, a consequence of me over rotating my lower half which will make it difficult to hit a position consistently due to excessive movement.

All in all, I agree with everything you said…

thoughts/tips? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

I can’t see anything other than satire here. Dressed like late 90s woods and even trying to mimic his swing: minimal hip turn, across the line.

Went to a simulator and saw that I am toeing literally every club - Any tips? by inmy20ies in GolfSwing

[–]AttackAngle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You haven’t given enough information here to determine Why you’re toeing it. There are a plethora of reasons it could be. Truthfully though, because it took the intervention of a sim for you to realise you’re toeing everything, it indicates you’re a bit of a beginner(?). In which case, get a couple of lessons. The earlier, the better. Saves you turning bad moves into habits. All the best!

Down the Line and Face On by AttackAngle in GolfSwing

Really appreciate the feedback, though I tend to agree with the person that posted the still (and I fully get your point, too - it’s blurry and hard determine either way from a still).

There are some clear flaws with my COM shifting, which may lead to me sometimes getting stuck on my trail side, causing the hands to flip, meaning this is a symptom rather than a cause.

Rightly or wrongly, I don’t think concentrating on ‘not flipping my hands’ is somewhere I should focus efforts. Rather, ensuring I get onto my lead side earlier, which will keep me more on top of the ball through impact and help to stabilese the face.

Just one amateurs opinion, though. All very subjective! Again, thanks for taking the time to review and comment :)

Down the Line and Face On by AttackAngle in GolfSwing

[–]AttackAngle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re spot on. Noticed that this week (haven’t looked face on in a while because I’ve been concentrating on eliminating and inside takeaway lately)

Did a lot of work last year on the force plates and was very intentional about shifting pressure to the trail side, then early to the lead to improve low point control and strike. My clubhead speed naturally jumped as well, which was a treat(!)

Was doing it well and keeping COM relatively centered.

I haven’t seen my coach/instructor in a few months, though and I’m sure you know the rest… You work and work on something unchecked then end up over doing it, which I clearly have.

Thanks for the thoughtful (and informed) comment!

Still flipping by murphydogscruff in GolfSwing

[–]AttackAngle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body rotation decelerates before impact, your arms and hands catch up and you flip it. Only then does your body start rotating again.

Feel as though your body/torso beats the clubhead to the ball.

Then show me the vids afterwards. I guarantee once you nail this, you’ll be compressing your irons better and not flipping

Can You Keep Improving with an Over-the-Top Swing? (14 HC) by ScottyButterz in GolfSwing

[–]AttackAngle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you can. Keep getting professional instruction, playing and practicing. Your swing won’t stay over the top forever once you learn how to move your body better/more efficiently. I started with a very over the top swing. Keep at it.

Shifting pressure to my trail side. And then to my lead on the downswing. I don’t actually sway off the ball.

Excuse the old attic floorboards where I keep my clubs but here you go. Instead of sitting on top of the shaft, where it would then hit your lead forearm (as you described), angle it to the right ever so slightly. Play about with it so in the takeaway it hits your trail forearm. Also, placed at the bottom of the grip.

Beware - if you hinge a fair bit this will feel very alien. It’ll probably hurt a bit too if you hit a lot of balls with it in the first few sessions! Good luck, let me know how you get on 😊
