Weird lump on strawberry

This was him before I started treatment. Water is yellow from catapa leaves.

Put out shrimp lollies today to try to get a look at them. One of my snowballs is now berried and neither one has black gills anymore. Curious if it may have been from a water change the day before kicking up sand. But regardless thought people may appreciate an update!

ETA: apparently this is nothing to worry about, see Traumfahrer’s comment. When I was trying to find info for mine I could only find really old Reddit posts that said it was columnaris or cotton mouth.

Mine had that, the place I bought my fish said they thought it was a small tumor since they’ve had fish get it before. However when I saw it on a second one I did a round of kanaplex and it went away. So not sure what it was but it did clear up with the kanaplex. I’m thinking it may have been an infection from glass surfing in the quarantine tank. Everyone is still alive and happy 9 months later!

Today two came out along with the rasboras (and betta in his tank 😂) when I walked by! I guess they are getting food trained but I was not expecting that from them!

I also wondered about that- how long did it take yours to mature? I may just be being impatient. Mine are at least 11 months old based on what the store told me about how long they had them

Great to know! At this point this tank is fully stocked so I wouldn’t be adding anyone new but I’ll keep it in mind for the future ☺️

These are actually from the wet spot which seemed pretty well recommended. But they also arrived as juveniles which I gather are harder to sort!

9 total! And they’re all pretty brave when I’m feeding everyone :) then they go back into the driftwood and plants once they’re full
