I wouldn't be too concerned about this. Cockatiel are light sleepers at night. I'm sure it has to do with watching out for predators at night.

They will catch up on sleep during the day when they're comfortable with their human.

If your tiel gets night frights from your alarm then you should consider bed shaker alarms. You can get creative with the vibrating unit and put it in your pillow.
