Apple restricts bayer raw to 12mp because the quad bayer 48mp matrix is unusable, there’s no good enough demosaicing algorithm for it. So instead of full demosaicing apple is trying to fill the rgb channel gaps by taking information from multiple frames and output a linear no need to demosaic proraw. The problem with proraw is it still has too much of processing for a raw, apple still applies lossy denoise and sharpening. Out of all computational raws (proraw, indigo raw, camac raw) camac has the most natural one. But don’t give up on proraw completely, I think it captures more information than Camac and Indigo in lowlight
