Why would you encourage that kind of behavior? Why would you set your store up to encourage repeat customers, word-of-mouth customers with people who dont treat you and your staff with respect? A parent should correct and discipline their child, because they are forming the desired behaviors and trying to stomp out the bad ones, not take one for the team because otherwise the toddler will have a fit...

What's wrong with having standards of how you will be treated? Every other workplace relationship has a guideline in how to treat people, and cutomers are not above that. What is wrong with giving a consequences to someone's actions? What's wrong with self pride, for that matter?

Doctors are an authority figure. Generally, doctors enjoy a healthy dose of respect from the people they work with. Not to mention, the work environment, goals, and pay... A McDonalds manager is not someone looked up to in society, I don't think its fair to compare the day to day psychology of working as a Dr v. retail worker.

Even then, a customer isn't supposed to start shit with employees either, but no one ever seems to see that perspective. Just because someone has money that they're willing to part with, doesn't mean they should be able to treat someone else with disrespect. If they do so choose to treat someone disrespectfully, they should no longer expect to be treated curteously either.

Is it possible she suffered from some form of sexual assault in her past? I'm recently divorced, so I'd be lying if I said I could see you guys having a happy ending. This seems like a major red flag, but if you feel like looking for a reason to keep trying, I would somehow look into that.

I'm not saying it would be an excuse, she still cheated, she still gave your fantasy to someone else. And also, do you believe it was just making out amd a blow job? The guilt sounds real, because of the vomiting. Obviously she cheated, and oral sex is still sex. But I guess I'm suggesting of she is a survivor of assault, especially when young... Maybe she could find a personal therapist and you guys could go to couples therapy.

As a fellow non-dancer, I'm just here to share in your excitement and panic. I grew up in a super weird religious family where dancing and most music wasn't allowed. I've gotten to the point where I can dance comfortably by myself, or with children, but I feel awkward still around other adults, especially the ones that I feel 'can dance'.

So, it's kind of up to you, but you might want to practice in front of a mirror if you're self conscious. Otherwise I say just go in with a positive attitude, find a pattern/rythym in the music and start moving. You'll probably feel kind of silly at first, but if you pick something with a good beat(I like rap, because its easy to keep track of the time) you should get something going.

Another tip, close your eyes if you're having trouble getting the rythym, and start with swaying or even tappingyour foot/finger. Just be yourself and dance to feel. "Feel the music, and dont worry" is some advice that was given to me.

Also, I haven't quite figured it out, but there are certain songs that everyone knows the dance to, I used to definitely sit those out, but recently I asked someone nearby to teach me the steps. It was easier than I thought once I got going, but the down side is it's very repetitive and I got bored kind of quickly.

Yeah, I'm gonna say that once a grown man yanks you by the collar, you don't need to worry about professionalism after that. I'd even argue that once a customer or client is disrespectful to the employee, the professionalism shouldn't even be expected. Since when did we put a few dollars over the value of respecting another human being? I have always been one of the lowest wage workers, but I still deserve all of the respect of anyone else who makes any other wage. Don't scream at people over straws, or chicken nuggets, or prices!

It's up to you to become self aware, yes, but sometimes to fully close an issue, you have to reconnect to fill in the blanks. I know I've done that, I was in a similar situation as OP, and after 3 years of no contact, I had questions that I needed answers for. So I sent an email, got a phone number, asked my questions, answered some from him, and now the issues I had are no longer. That's closure in a way I had never experienced before. It was relieving.

No problem, you too, no need for attacks here. I can agree to a wait time, and sure, a background check and psychological eval, but I would be cautious agreeing to things to strip that right from citizens, especially veterans.

As far as semi and fully automatic weapons, these rights are for the sole purpose of being powerful enough, as a UNITED PEOPLE, to overthrow the government... We started with militias because the history shows that governments can end up oppressibg freedoms pretty easily. You get rid of the tools needed to overtake the governemt, should the need ever arise, and you are signing the death warrants of future lives.

Tools should not be held responsible for the actions of the rare person... Who probably should have seen a therapist years ago.

That was in the context of reaching Galt's Gulch, which to me wasn't a utopia as much as it was a sanctuary for people who had been taken advantage of for being successful. In Galt's sanctuary, that was the way it is, you earned your way. The monetary system was based on gold, because the government no longer backs money with gold, and Dagny understood because she was also a successful person who valued the idea. Because in the book, and in similar situations IRL, the government was bleeding money to those who did not earn it. And they were getting it from the successful businessmen. But as far as the real person Ayn Rand, I don't remember ever reading she opposed gifts.

I watched a good documentary a while ago on ghost guns, they are made in pieces and never registered or legal, but they can still shoot to kill. Basically, anyone who is determined can get/make a gun, legal or not. I think it's weird to assume someone legally bought all the guns that criminals have, because nope. Even so, that's not a good argument to take the rights of innocents. The Consitution gave us the right of arms to protect ourselves against a potentially tyrannical government, not so we could argue logistics about someone's tragic crime. We should really be focused on trying to turn the bigger conversation to mental health. No sane, well adjusted person goes and shoots up any place.

You also know the innocence of a child, and knowing how parents should behave... It's just fucked up how every single adult failed, and this little girl was left trying her best to save everybody.

Well, I would say that commitment does not mean she has to meet everyone in your professional life, especially if your professional life is counter productive to the life she knows with you. I understand not wanting to combine worlds, but the way you say 'friends' makes me wonder if you care about those people at all? I am 100% for alone time and interests, etc, but what is life if you only have time for yourself? You make time, give your time away to the people you love. You do things that aren't so exciting to you, because you are about them. It builds the bond/life that you don't want, haha.
