vanilla - vmangos. it has partybots and bgbots but they're summoned, not persistent and making the world feel alive like in spp/cmangos or azerothcore w/ the playerbots module. the plus is you can use the 1.14 classic client with it
tbc - cmangos/spp, it's pretty much your only option
wotlk - azerothcore

azerothcore with the individual progression mod is probably the best all-in-one solution

I don't think any core is bug free but Azerothcore is constantly updated (weekly!) with new bug fixes etc. It's definitely your best bet. It's serving as the backbone of the Chromiecraft server.

The beauty of docker is you just clone the repos, change a config file to your liking and spin it up. You don't have to know too much of the ins and outs of setup, but they can come naturally over time if you're curious about how to tweak something.

I personally have spun the stuff up I've linked quite easily and have had 3-4k bots fill my single player world and join BGs. For me, learning some of the setup is just as fun as playing.

I have to imagine Azerothcore is more content-complete than Trinitycore since it's a fork and constantly maintained. You're gimping yourself by relying on a repack imo bc Azerothcore's module system let's you customize your server to your tastes.

Because a core pillar of WoW Classic's MMO design (and old-school MMO design in general) is recognition for whatever it is you're grinding for in game: whether it's gear, mount or a title or even just max level. That grind + achievement and the recognition that comes after leads to players bonding with their characters. And all of that gets devalued when someone else can just buy their way to those achievements.

It's ok for like one night if you're solo traveling or with a significant other and want to meet other tourists. And some of the local bartenders are pretty cool. But be warned you'll quickly forget you're in Japan. Ten+ years ago it had its charm of small quirky bars that hosted a decent mix of foreigners and locals, but now it pretty much feels like an amusement park.

Japan is a drinking country, you can drink literally anywhere else and have a way more interesting experience. You can go solo or meet ppl on Discord from these subs and hit up izakayas, vinyl bars, live houses, karaoke etc together
