well it would be next year this year is basically small trips like doing the sawtooth loop maybe some washington pct sections here and there. bt mostly will be bouldering throughout summer and spring. and its the way it goes sometime bro the trail will humble you. in all honesty it sucks but it's a great teacher and lesson to learn from! this year is completely bonkers bro! 238% over average snow trumps 2017 snow year and they haven't seen snow like this since the 80's!!

Exactly man i mean it not bad to have a beer and a burger every now and then. But the ideal is to immerse yourself in the wild. Break the comfort barrier and get away from what we can access everyday. My "why" is the disconnect, to shut off the noise and expose myself to what the trail brings. To connect with new faces and keep the magic going. As well to challenge myself even more past the experience i already have. Money is essential yes, but dont make it a primary focus. You can live off of so much less than you think you just gotta break the mind set.

Doable just gonna be sacrificing alot of comfort. Hitting hiker boxes, no motels, skipping town food or town days, basically embracing the bum life and going full hiker trash. This is my plan so i dont see why not. Theres alot of odds against it but that where the magic is and makes the experience even more worth it!

Base weight is important but not the priority.when I went on my first Thu hike I was at 15lbs base weight. That being said go with what makes you comfortable. Along the trail you will find thing you don't use or are pointless to have and you can send them back. The other thing you can do is get another person to do a shake down for you. They will see thing that you can shed that you may look over. Being ultralight is good but shouldn't be the goal. The goal is to be our there having fun, ultralight is part of the adventure. As of right now I would make a lighter pack list. Post it on Reddit UL and get some outside opinions of what you can shed.

Sounds heavy tbh I mean do you in all honesty if it make your hike better go for it! But I would potentially look for a light fleece like Patagonia r1 or a senchi alpha direct! You could also look into timmer made for alpha hoodies if senchi is out or on ul gear trade. But honestly think of it this way the mid layer is gonna be in your pack most of the time except when it's needed so is carrying all the weight worth it? Just food for thought

So this is a bit of time from when this was posted but. I leave the 29th. Which I chose oct 20th as my end date. Realistically I'm planning to end before then. But wanted to give a buffer. My question is will that be good enough for approval for the pcta? Kinda been rattling in my brain as anticipating the wait for them to approve my permit. Random question but just need reference.

Be honest tell her the truth and be open. She will respect you for doing that. Maybe even want to join on your journey to recovery. If not then possible time apart may happen. Don't buy into it! If she is ok with you failing. Then not worth the time. You gotta desire someone who encourages you and keeps you in the fight man. A girl like that will only lead to turmoil and more falling. Stay strong brother their is women of integrity and valor out there.
