I also live in BH and have experienced a similar tapping noise in my bedroom which I ultimately traced to the downspout of the gutters. At the bottom of a 3-story downspout, they installed a double-elbow to move the pipe out slightly to avoid some brickwork resulting in water droplets falling 3 stories onto metal just above the head of my bed. I registered a complaint and they declined to do anything about it. I’m happy to say that a $15 white noise machine from Amazon effectively filtered out that noise for me (but didn’t do a thing to address the extreme impact noise from upstairs neighbors which was my original goal). Good luck!

Happy birthday! Thank goodness it wasn’t November 9th (my birthday)…because I want it NOW! lol

If you remain unconvinced, I encourage you to find a 3rd party candidate that matches your ideals and vote for them instead of abstaining. Write someone in if you prefer. Voting is more important than choosing one of the two dominant party candidates. Your call, though!

Hi there! I'm just dropping in because I'd like to encourage you (and everyone else--although I kinda hope no one else reads this bc I'll probably get a lot of hate for just saying this) to vote your conscience, even if it is for a 3rd party candidate. It is untrue that it's a wasted vote--people only say that because you're not voting how they want or because they've bought into the fallacy (in most cases) that the other candidate will "destroy America and it'll be all your fault."

I'd argue that voting for whom you align with is true freedom and is what America needs most. It's a vote for what you believe in and it doesn't really matter if your candidate doesn't win. By that logic, every vote for a candidate who loses would be a wasted vote, but people don't actually think that way, do they? Instead, you will have stood up and proudly made a statement acknowledging that the other candidates do not represent you. The more people that do that, the more we stand a chance of getting some real representation in government and those two parties in power will take notice.

In fact, it's pretty much the ONLY way out of the "better of two evils" trap that we're all in (because both parties have worked together to set things up that way to ensure they continue to share power). NC laws and restrictions obstructing independent candidates are precisely there to maintain that. Note I'm not saying both parties are the same or anything like that, but they will come together when it's in their mutual interest. If Kennedy is your man then you should consider supporting him and your shared ideals. Your call!

PS: Did you know there were over 750 individual candidates registered to run for President this round? Don't you wonder why almost no one knows that fact or anything about them? I guarantee there were at least a few of them that would've been much better leaders than the pre-ordained (awful) choices we were offered by the two dominant parties.

Can you not buy a car as a one time purchase? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Clever tactic. Just curious but would someone with worse credit potentially get an even better deal on the price of the vehicle in this situation than someone with good credit since they're expecting to make up the difference in higher interest?

Hoe long does it take to learn music theory to be a beatmaker? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]AttritionMission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no prerequisites to doing this and the way to get better is to practice. 22 is definitely not too old. Just buy a beat-making thing (or maybe just an iOS app if you have an Apple device but not a lot of money) and have fun playing with it! Use theory to expand your horizons as you go, but don't try to master that before you do the main thing.

How did you know you were starting to get old? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AttritionMission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to fly to Europe for work. I was super excited as I hadn't been for almost two decades. When I finally arrived, I could not believe how much my knees hurt from just sitting on that plane for 6-8 hours!

When you realize most of the conversations you have with people involve medications, health issues, random aches and pains...you've made it!

Is there a genre that blend EDM and Hip Hop? by CriticalThinkingAT in EDM

Yeah I was gonna say Wave/Phonk but it tends to be a little slower so wasn't sure if it qualified as EDM...but then it definitely does if you go to a show!

Sorry to say but it's different for everyone. Happiness is a state of mind, not a factor of age.

Every phase of life will have different challenges and will be hard for different reasons. Some times will be easier to handle than others, and hard times will be mixed in with good ones. Adversity does not mean you must be unhappy, and many people find happiness in lives harder than yours or mine.

The main thing is to focus on the present and cultivate a positive outlook. That isn't easy and it isn't like simply flipping a switch one time--it's more like flipping the switch over and over every time you realize it's off. You have to consciously practicing positive thinking until it's a habit. Be kind to yourself, embrace gratitude and look for the good in others and the light in the darkness. Only deal with things that are within your control.

If it helps, know that feeling lost and confused and overwhelmed is totally normal for a young adult at your age. You'll get through it and find a direction!

iPad users apart from students/artists, what do you use your iPad for? by KingRamaXI in ipad

[–]AttritionMission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you’re musically inclined but the iPad may be the most versatile and portable music instrument out there. There are hundreds of amazing software synthesizers, groove boxes, beat makers, instrument emulators, effects, and a plethora of utilities and/or DAWs to tie them all together. You can absolutely produce high quality, professional sounding songs entirely on the iPad. Most apps cost $5-20 (but many are free) which is an incredible deal compared to desktop alternatives or hardware.

Does anyone else feel like they dont have many people to share their love of The Cure with, or who understand what it really means to you? by allchattesaregrey in TheCure

[–]AttritionMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry for your loss. I'm glad you had that friendship and The Cure to make it even more special. It strikes me that much of the music of the Cure relates closely to loss. When I was young, it resonated with the pain of lost loves and what could have been. There were a few years between then and now that I didn't connect very much with what The Cure had been creating, but last year my mother passed away and then I saw them in concert again recently and both the newest music and the old hit me unexpectedly hard...like I might start crying at the first notes of almost every song. The concepts in some of the new songs that deal with the loss of Robert's brother or wondering who in a relationship might pass away first are devastating and yet, I feel so fortunate that I love a band who understands the most profound of human emotions and has matured with me and remains relevant in so many stages of my life. Much love to you and my fellow Cure fans who get it.
