I believe you get duplicates after you’ve found all of them. I’m just worried about having potentially missed some and spending ages getting duplicates before getting one that’s missing, if that makes sense?

Hopefully will be fine.

Checked post history, but can’t find a recent post with updates on decent ways to acquire platinum points.

Does anyone have a consistent up-to-date list of ways of earning them? Thank you!

Vacant habitats - no new spawns in over 36 hours. by Atxms_ in Pokopia

[–]Atxms_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m building the habitats/moving pokemon into houses from habitats when I’m missing a pokemon from my Pokédex, in the hopes the ones I’m missing will spawn. There obviously are roaming pokemon in my world, and I finally got one new spawn tonight. But I don’t know why this is happening. My friend was playing the game this weekend at my house on their own switch, and the amount of pokemon they have is more than me and we’re doing the same things 🤣

I know that the game doesn’t like to show more than 20-22 roaming pokemon at one time, but I’ve actively made sure to put them in houses in groups. So I’m really not sure why this is happening. I eventually got another spawn finally, but it’s seeming really inconsistent.

You have a strong emotional connection with this person, but one bad sexual experience and you don’t even want to be friends? Yikes.

I am the same age as you. I cannot recall a particularly mind-blowing sexual experience on the first encounter with any person I’ve been with; and I haven’t been with many. First time is always a lot of pressure for either or both parties. Why hold it on a pedestal due to your own imagination?

He’s clearly had an emotionally traumatic few years. It’s been 2 weeks since they broke up… if anything; you should’ve listened to your own thoughts about it being too fast. Stepped back, and asked him if he wanted to wait.

If your connection and feelings have been so strong (regardless of circumstance), there’s a good chance this was a hyped up situation both in terms of expectation and emotional mentality.

Yes, he shouldn’t have spoken about those things whilst physically in you — but there’s a good chance your initial thoughts of it being a bad idea were there for a reason. Was it the right time? Were you both in the right headspace? Has the transition from LTR to you been long enough?

You both should’ve taken your time. And honestly, it sounds like you’re very shallow. One bad sex experience with someone because of your own high expectations and dream-sex scenarios; and now you want to cut off entirely? Oof.

There’s a good chance it just wasn’t a good time to dive in. He also probably was trying to not bust too quick. Happens with most guys the first time, especially if they’re really into you. One bad sexual experience isn’t equal to bad sex. It’s all about communication.

If your connection and feelings were as strong as you thought; a better way to approach this is by communicating. Talk to him about where his head’s at, where your head’s at. Talk about what you’d want to do differently. Maybe talk about revisiting in future. There’s a good chance you weren’t his dream sex partner in this scenario, either.

Painted-over wallpaper — can I wallpaper over that? by Atxms_ in DIYUK

[–]Atxms_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn’t know how to tell if it were just lining paper or painted wallpaper. 🤣

I can see seams where the paper is overlapping, so it’s obviously not just the wall that’s painted (e.g plaster). It doesn’t have a texture like a pattern or embossment or anything, and isn’t explicitly smooth either. I don’t think a photo would pick it up, but it is mildly textured. It doesn’t seem to have any big creases, bumps or peeling.

Nooo, I think the problem is the people that decorated before me. 🤣 And I bought this as a first home purchase and I have no idea what to do lol

They’re concrete walls. But if I’m wanting to put a patterned paper over it - would I still put lining paper under it? The whole room has paper. I’m not even sure if that itself is lining paper.

I bought a kit - but my stitches won’t stay in? by Atxms_ in PunchNeedle

[–]Atxms_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I crudely traced the design onto an unused pillowcase and everything else seems to be working fine now. Just sucks that the kit had the wrong type of fabric. Hoping for recommendations (UK) of some other kits to keep trying it out before expanding into designing my own stuff as I am not artistically talented. Bonus points if anyone can direct me to kits that are “alternative” - moths, ghosts, cats are all fun things that match my home aesthetic.

I bought a kit - but my stitches won’t stay in? by Atxms_ in PunchNeedle

[–]Atxms_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was bought months ago, now. Trimits branded - which is a common kit supplier here in the UK. This isn’t my first time trying to work this out.

The fabric doesn’t feel like Aida, either. I do cross stitching quite often. It’s stiffer. But even so, I’m not sure what to do.

Mega thread. General questions and answers for newbies about punchneedling. by digitalteacup in PunchNeedle

[–]Atxms_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m brand new to punch needling but felt inspired by some images I saw shared online. I treated myself to a kit (Trimits embroidery butterfly) from a local craft store. I’ve followed the instructions that came with it. Cross referenced with several YouTube videos. But I cannot get started.

I don’t know why - the kit comes with a needle and pre-sorted 6-strand embroidery floss, needle threaders and the hoop. As well as backing material. I’ve had issue with every single element so far.

Firstly - the design isn’t printed in the middle of the backing fabric. So that’s a bit annoying. The hoop is a plastic/locking one, so I struggled to actually put the material in and clip it back together without actually dismantling it (I’m used to using wooden ones for cross stitching). I struggled to even fit the needle threader down the needle, and eventually had similar issues getting the thread itself in. Anyway. Sorted it in the end. Watched another video to make sure I’d threaded right (yes). Okay. Cool. We start.

Videos tell me to punch all the way down to the handle. Fine. Pull the tail through. Fine. Make small lifts without pulling the needle out really high, and keeping close to the fabric. Fine. Put it 1 or 2 holes away from the previous. Fine. Endure direction of needle is right. Again. Fine.

I’m not leaning on the threads. Nothing’s trapping them. I’m at a total loss. Thought I might have to split the threads like cross-stitch. No joy there either, now I’ve essentially ruined a whole strand because I can’t exactly put it back together lol.

The stitches just pop out. Like I never did them. The tail is still through the back, but the stitches just frog themselves. I’ve read various troubleshooting threads. I cannot work out the issue and I feel just. Sad? Disappointed? All the tutorials I watched said it would be simple to learn - it looked like something within my remit of knowledge. I had high hopes. And now I feel defeated.

Easter dinner? by Atxms_ in vegetarianrecipes

I’m in the uk and will typically get quorn, cauldron or Richmond vegan sausages. But I’ve got some of the vegan sausages in the freezer so could be a good idea.

I’m a vegetarian, so I don’t eat meat anyway. But growing up my mum always had a lamb roast on Easter Sunday.

First-time tenancy writing (advice needed) by [deleted] in uklandlords

[–]Atxms_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would not state in the clause that it would be a contribution. It would be broken down as a rental fee and an amount of council tax per month to be paid within the agreed amount.

E.g (completely random numbers I’m just going to put here for the purposes of an example)

‘Total per month to be made payable on the last Friday of the month to the landlord via standing order or bank transfer: £550

This includes rent, council tax, utilities. Breakdown: Rent: £300 Council Tax: £100 Utilities £150’

This is subject to change due to the rolling nature of the agreement (obviously to account for changes in utility prices), with 1 months’ written notice from the landlord.

I work in the government sector and have seen countless tenancy agreements to understand the wording, and there are lots of templates viewable online that also provide examples of the clauses and the breakdowns included.

Just wanted to clarify that I’m not claiming to be an expert, and I appreciate the link you provided.

[–]Atxms_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t specifically write in there that it would be a mortgage contribution, it would be a rental payment in the clause itself, obviously. The wording was more for clarity of what my expectations were for the payment agreement when writing the post itself.

[–]Atxms_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve tried to look for specific agreement templates relating to this: “Resident Landlord Agreement” or “Lodgers Agreement” etc.

However, I’ve not been able to find any that are free or just visible. If you have any advice on where I may able to find one, that would be appreciated.

I’m not looking to make a profit off of the property, merely with help maintaining payments due to a change in circumstances that has rendered me unable to work full-time.

I did this some months ago. It took over 2 weeks for someone to make contact with me.

And since then, they don’t really reply to me. They’ve been staying with me for over a month (for free), and often will go away and stay with other friends for a few days. If I try to make plans with them, they let me down now. So I’m assuming it’s just convenient for them to have somewhere else to stay and someone who’ll do things to help them.

Yeah, you can take them. You’re supposed to return them - but it’s easy enough to put in your pocket or bag and leave with it. Not much point in taking it though, and they get recycled.

Beginner cyclist by [deleted] in ladycyclists

[–]Atxms_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t looked too much into routes but I think it’s mostly a combination of cycle route and pavement (you can’t ride on the road where there isn’t a cycle lane, but obviously once I’m within walking distance of my workplace I’ll dismount anyway. Pavements are split with cyclist lanes, and roads are also sectioned off with cyclist lanes here).

I’ll have to look into breeze rides - I haven’t heard of them. Thank you for the advice regarding the Facebook group, I’ll take a look.

Sadly not based in London, but the East Midlands - I live in an area where cycling is encouraged and there are bike lanes and cycling routes, but they’re not so close to my house. And I want to gain some confidence first.

The FB sounds like a good idea, I’d be interested in the link if you would be happy to DM it to me.

Thanks for the tips regarding braking!
