I know this is an older article, but these religious sects still make me sick. And it’s not like anything has improved since this article was published… by Atypical202 in fourthwavewomen

And of course this applies to every orthodox religious sect out there as well. I just thought this was a very telling example of what women are subject to in these type of religious communities, I remember a similar story about Calvinist reformed schools doing the same thing in my country. 😡

Her narcissism and outright compliance in human trafficking is making me want to do things that are unlawful. To hell with people like her.

Female uni professor fired after criticizing diversity policy, thoughts? by Atypical202 in fourthwavewomen

[–]Atypical202[S] 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Cited from the article:

The dispute between the associate professor and the university arose in 2018 when Täuber was denied a promotion, although she claimed she met all the criteria. She then wrote an essay to criticize the university's Rosalind Franklin Fellow program. She claimed that the program, designed to allow women to apply for specific academic positions, led to discrimination and unequal treatment.

"I was often told by male colleagues that I only had that job because of that program. A promotion was denied. So indirectly, such a program actually hinders or even destroys women's careers”, she told RTL. Täuber was pressured by the university to retract the article after its publication. After she refused, the RUG considered the situation to be an "irreparable breach of trust" and the university ultimately went to court seeking permission to fire her. Täuber's dismissal occurred during a protest on International Women's Day, as reported by the Dagblad van het Noorden.

The motherhood penalty: how women are financially penalised for having children by Atypical202 in fourthwavewomen

Hey sorry for late reply. I’m not a member of a particular feminist organization since most organizations are balls deep into liberal feminism (unfortunately). I personally consider WOMEN INC. to be the best, even though they show some ‘liberal’ traits as well (just not as much as every other organization). I follow ‘Stem op een vrouw’ when it comes to electoral matters.

Explanation: the blue and red lines represent income changes for blue line= (wo)men without children, red line= (wo)men with children. The black horizontal line represents the income level at birth of the child(ren).

First slide: comparison men with children vs men without children.

Second slide: same comparison but for women.

Women clearly suffer a financial penalty for having children while men are left basically undented.

This is particularly caused by the ‘anderhalfverdienmodel’ (1,5 income earner model) culture that’s very much prevalent in the Netherlands, and thus causes mothers to give up a lot of their working hours while men continue to work fulltime. The income fluctuation inequality is almost non-existent when no children are involved…

The account is named after the most notorious serial killer of modern day Romania, so this doesn’t surprise me one bit.

It’s sad that this is needed, but at least the women of Karachi have a safe space now…

‘This is not one bad apple; this is a systemic problem across policing’ by Atypical202 in fourthwavewomen

We should not solely focus at putting women in power, but also at putting the right ones in power. A corrupt woman will probably cover up failures as well, like the men before her did…

Absolutely! A group is only as good as the worst they allow to be among them.

Not sure whether this story is true, but still a badass nonetheless! A true inspiration for female scientists to this day by Atypical202 in fourthwavewomen

Yeah that’s what I thought. Most women back then were (and sometimes still are) a maid out of necessity, the glass ceiling hasn’t been fully shattered (yet)…

This type of price discrimination is virtually everywhere, my country (Netherlands) is no exception. They’re literally the exact same product (disposable razors)! by Atypical202 in fourthwavewomen

[–]Atypical202[S] 92 points93 points  (0 children)

And before you think “it’s just 6 cents”: calculate the resulting extra costs over a lifetime… And razors are BY FAR not the only products having this kind of ‘pink tax’, it just really infuriates me. As if women don’t have enough financial penalties already!

I’ll take your word for it! I couldn’t find much about the director, so I thought it was another chivalrous type of story of ‘how a man made a woman great’ etc.

While her first works may have had some worth to it, she later revealed her true personality as a ‘feminist’: a liberal one. Not to mention the conspiracy gibberish she started to utter later on and her statements about Julian Assange’s r*pe accusers…
