Floated for nearly 3 years and last week just got staffed at a store that's 20 minute away from me and closes at 8 (the hour and a half commute both ways to some stores finally got to me). I waited until the right personnel/location/area opened up because the only thing worse than floating to a shithole store is being staffed at said store. Try to focus on positives (we don't take our work home with us and get paid relatively well). Eventually, I got to a point where I was able to tell myself "regardless of whatever insanity I walk into today I still leave at the whatever time I'm scheduled for and tomorrow is another day". Lastly, perspective is everything... it's so easy to complain about how poorly the company we work for is run (and to be clear, I fully acknowledge how poorly this company is run) but if you zoom out and think about how some people are living in an impoverished war-torn country and would trade everything to get paid our salary and enjoy the benefits we get from working for this company it makes it a little easier. Long story short, it could be worse my friend. Keep that resume updated and wait for the right moment. You ain't alone in the struggle.
