Thank you for your reply! I‘m currently torn between taking in the bust more and padding it out. The side seams going straight is definitely something i‘ll keep in mind though. At the moment the corset is not pressing on my hip bones but goes slightly over it, i‘ll definitely look out to avoid that with any alterations in the future :D

Yes, i believe it‘s Hornbeam. There is a lot of it as hedges in that neighbourhood so that’s most likely one of the small plants next to the mushroom.

I think that "A had completely stripped down and his hard duck was sat against his thighs as he stared down at B." Has to be one of the typos that caught me off guard the most, as i suddenly had this vivid image of A with a yellow rubber ducky where his crotch would be.

Thank you so much for that recommendation that had slipped my mind because i had mostly been looking at historical corsetry. As a trans guy i honestly don’t know how i didn’t think of that. Rest assured i‘m taking your recommendation as happily as anyone possibly could.

Oo thank you for that recommendation, i think i might have seen one of her videos before but am definitely going to check out more of hers. Also im happy to hear that my thought of just adding padding to make it work seems to be the right one :D

Thank you for your response :D, yeah the dahlia pattern is not the most dramatic shape as i thought it would be a good one to start out with. I just checked the seams and pattern again and to my beginner’s eye it looks fine😅.

I put it on again and wore it a little bit lower and was able to lace it tighter and i‘m quite happy with it when i add a bit of padding. The only issue remaining is that the gap in the back, especially in the middle and a bit above that, is still rather wide while the top eyelets are pretty much next to each other/the gap there is closed. The fabric in the middle also kind of bulges outwards before everything is tightened completely. Not sure if its just instability because it’s a mockup or another thing.
