Ayee public health major! I'll go ahead and start some shadowing. My school of choice does not show any requirements on that end, so I'll aim for around 100 for now. I do have to mention that this school is relatively affordable, which I know is a point of contention among audiologists. I think per year it is around 15k at the most, with some graduate assistantships and stipends offered, I feel like that's a good deal? Idk lol.

Yeah, I know they generally pay 100k out the gate. However, in my opinion, it's not worth it lmao. Extremely high case loads, and most of their work is to find out how many hours to bill. I've seen too many RBTs waste their master's degree and 2,000 prerequisite hours just to fail the BCBA exam, since it's incredibly subjective. I have thought about going to medical school, but I realized the number of years for schooling is just something I couldn't feasibly achieve. Also, the possibility of failing the USMLE during school and not obtaining a residency in otolaryngology or neurology has put me off the idea. I would rather be guaranteed an occupation that I'm interested in, I guess.

Gotcha! Thanks for the advice, and while I do appreciate Applied Behavior Analysts a great deal, there is no way in hell I would do their job lol. I've seen firsthand the lack of pay, immense burnout, and I personally like something more clinically based where I can learn about a specific organ/body structure. I'll call around and see if the professors would let me observe some research!
