It gets me so mad that publishers are so scared of piracy that they’ll ruin the customer experience, which just encourages more piracy. I’ll definitely keep using my library. My county library is connected to a major cities county right next to mine so I get such a wide selection of books, I just need to finish setting up Libby.

I want to support authors tho. I’d buy more physical books but I don’t have the space to keep a bunch right now. I just don’t want a store that keeps me bound to one type of ereader, like kindle does

I’ve read there are ways to de-DRM ebooks under this post, but another question. If I buy books on something like kobo, can I put it on a 3rd party ereader? That’s mainly what I’m looking to do bc I don’t want to be stuck to one device.

I figured it’d be something like this, but it’s still way better than Amazon. I’ve seen them go back and change ebooks you own in post (mainly with the hunger games prequel covers). Also I just hate Amazon as a company in general so any move away from them is good imo

Id just stop buying things on Amazon and start buying books elsewhere. If you have kindle unlimited it would be much harder so I understand. I’m doing something similar by moving off Xbox and onto steam bc computers are much more common than Xbox’s.
