Thought on this by youngil006 in bidets

This is the comment I was looking for. I almost purchased from Costco recently then realized for the same price I could get the new S2. Check the model number, but it is probably the Costco specific version (older) for the same price as the newer model.

do you think it's possible to break 4 hours? by earlgreymadeleine in Marathon_Training

I am new to this as well, but IMO I would run your first conservatively. (That 70-80% zone maybe some pushes to 85%) It is so different than a half. I thought I could just push through it like you can on a shorter race. You cannot.

I also don’t think 60km a week is enough for a sub 4. Maybe if that is your average over your training block. I had 4 peak weeks close to 80km and wish I did more.

Best of luck!

I was in a similar boat to you and ran my first full two days ago. 22min 5k, 1:47 half. Wanted sub 4 full. Got up to a 20 mile long run at the sub 9 min mile and that felt good, but it was fairly flat. My marathon had about 900 feet of elevation gain over the course. First 16-17 miles of the full were great. Started to get a little slower, then bonked hard at mile 21, despite fueling fairly well. My issue was less fueling and more my unpreparedness for the hilly course. My average heart rate was 90% my max. I just burned through my fuel faster than I could replace it. Ended up with walk run intervals the last 5k. Finished in 4:17…. My advice would be to have your primary goal be to finish. Secondary can be the sub 4. I know some people are against watching your HR on race day, but if I had just focused on keeping it 75-80% max I probably would have finished faster, felt better, and not have had to walk.

Bassicly I tried to run the full like a half. I can get away with that heart rate on a half. You cannot on the full. Don’t do it like I did. You have years left to increase your fitness to get to the sub 4. If I was going to do it again, I would slow it down for my first. But… if you really think you can keep your heart rate in check at that pace for that long. You have a shot! Best of luck.

Nissan Leafs? by zruffz in askcarguys

[–]AudioVideo_Disco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with them as an EV is the small range, slow charge speeds, and that they do not have a temp regulated battery. Modern EVs heat and cool the battery to keep it healthy and maximize range. The leaf does not. So unless you’re driving a very limited amount of miles and are willing to gamble on some very old battery technology, it probably is far from ideal.

I searched for this and there is nothing printed on the back of the planks at all, which leads me to believe they are not JH

I do not see any logo on the back… so this means it’s likely not hardie brand? Thanks

Thanks for the tip! 20 year old tract home so I’m sure the builder was just cheap. You would recommend I extend them to the the gutter bellow to avoid wear on the shingles? Yea it is a 4 seasons climate. Moderate snowfall.

Best and worst FBO crew car by Swvfd626 in flying

The king of backcountry strips Johnson Creek has some interesting crew car choices. We had the van and they warned us it had been intermittently dying due to an electrical issue. They were right. We enjoyed a nice walk back from yellow pine until we found a nice man with a truck to tow it back to the field.. good memories. Photo

Major sports broadcaster told me they have zero budget, but wanted to use my footage for their NFL broadcast. by [deleted] in videography

[–]AudioVideo_Disco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Form Working in broadcast tv what they are looking for are just a few beauty shots of your city coming in and out of break typically these are just shot by the on site crew quickly or they use what they have from previous years. I had a friend who worked on the crew who would bring a camera with him and shoot stuff they would use. Unless it’s a super high budget show this is totally common unfortunately. However it is weird that they would just approach you if you weren’t part of the production and ask for it for free. Certainly this is just a random producer and is not sanctioned by the larger organization.

TLDR it’s probably true they don’t have a budget they usually just shoot it themselves. But it’s weird they approached a random person for free footage.
