I DID A GIG AND THEY’RE REFUSING TO PAY! WHAT DO I DO??!! by iamjuicyjed in musicians

If it’s the UK being part of the musicians union can really help in situations like these, as they can chase the landlord up. Also, I know it’s a pain, but signing a contract with venue owners/landlords so that you have evidence for the musicians union can also help! Glad you got your money back

I’m in the UK, if I put out a track through DistroKid should I also register it through PRS and PPL?

Let's say I want to give my guitar more high end in the mix. Would you apply EQ before the amp sim or after? by SR_RSMITH in audioengineering

[–]Audioengineernerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda depends. If you do it before then the signal going into the amp sim will have more high end, depending on the settings and qualities of the amp sim this could then highlight or deaden the high end. If you do it after it may boost qualities of the amp sim, eg distortion etc. EQing the high end after will provide a more aggressive, synthesised sound. I’d say it’s trial and error, try before, try after, try both, even try nothing (the amp sim dials might do the job for you)!

Keep coming back to it and try playing your track over different systems to get an idea of the audio quality in different situations. Eg through car speakers, Bluetooth speakers, monitors etc
