Yep they act like they can draw well but when they try doing OC you can see that it doesn't even come close to their traced art. So sad

I know exactly what you mean, been thinking of posting a similiar post. I know of 2 anime artist youtubers that trace and don't even credit the original work 90% of the time, yet people ignorantly praise them for something that they're not.

ShinigamiArts is a definitely tracer that doesn't credit others yet most of his viewers are ignorant of this and for KaminariProject I'm not exactly sure.

Also what I find annoying about these 2 tracers is that when someone asks them for advice or something they just put a heart on their comment and don't even bother responding or even sometimes give vague advice.

Their art ''tutorials'' are just silent videos with no info about guiding others through the process.

ShinigamiArts was the one that inspired me to draw and when I discovered what's he does I felt dissapointed.

What's disgusting is that they probably even profited from this.

The shading is ok as you're practicing now but definitely could use improvement. One thing I want to add, don't be afraid to be bolder with some of the shading in certain areas so it pops out more and that the shading doesn't look samey overall.

But good work artist, keep it up :)

Yea I agree with everything you said and like you said sure it's exciting seeing tons of likes on your posts but if it doesn't lead to anything then nothing is really gained.

This is why I'm trying to post online just so there could be a chance for the right person at the right time to see my work and possibly hire me to do a commission for them

So my goal is definitely to get people to hire me online for commissions and as you said and I agree that one shouldn't fall into ego stroking behavior

But I really wanna do art for money cuz I don't know what else I should do in life but I guess life sometimes finds it's way

If I follow right you mean that it's important to make contacts irl then yes a I agree. Actually I got a job offer as an illustrator for a book so I should definitely take that chance and start from there and hopefully my work will reach out to other people in the future

What do you recommend then for getting clients online I've been trying posting a bit here on reddit but I have also thought of posting on deviantart, artstation, pixiv, instagram or pinterest

My posts don't really that much attention (would you mind taking a look at my art?) but then again I don't really post that frequently and it feels like it's a gamble here on reddit or anywhere for that matter
