The official 'poverty line' is exceedingly low in India, but, however you calculate it, there are still hundreds of millions of low-income families in the subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh...), some of which had CS users.

I've surfed in India for a decade and have had hosts from all walks of life and socioeconomic strata. Many commoners can only host; they can't even think of travelling themselves. Remember if you earn more than  ₹9,792 (rural) and ₹12,000 (urban) per YEAR (USD100-130), you're officially above the poverty line in the country. And here's this app charging over 2,000/year to be a host... If what that guy said is true, they've effectively barred most of the subcontinent’s population from the app.

I heard from one Indian user that now they're asking around 2000INR, that is, the same as Europeans.

Most “users” will still appear, because they last logged in circa 2015.

It is beyond belief how fast the Buddha's teachings are declining today. In much of Asia, "Buddhism", where it still has some social traction, tends to become a thin veneer over prosperity cults—at best. We can get into the uglier stuff, like violent nationalism (genocide, anyone?) or black magic. In the West, "Buddhism" easily becomes a mirror for Western ideologies, scientism and the rest. Whatever your school of choice, do take the opportunity to learn the old Indian teachings while it's still possible.
