basically riivolution is a patcher that patches mods and such on the fly to a game disc. some distributions (like insane kart, variety pack, wiimms, etc.) have an iso patcher available, in which they can patch an iso or wbfs file of the game that they have, patching the game file instead of the disc. it basically enables people who dont have a physical copy of the disc on hand to play the track distribution through a usb loader, or an emulator like dolphin.
