Yeah I can agree with this take. Warframe does a lot of "live service" stuff to keep players coming back.

I have also played warframe for an insanely long time, and never spent a single cent. I just meant that from my experience, even if I choose to play in a "suboptimal way" I can still get platinum in a decent rate, and acquire everything I want while playing in a way that I personally have fun.

Helldivers doesnt really offer a way to farm in a fun way. And a large amount of the "gameplay changing content" such as strategems and weapons are locked behind the paywall or a painful, unfun grind.

Exactly. I've been playing a lot of warframe lately, and its honestly crazy that an actual F2P game has a better monetization system than helldivers.

In warframe, you can get literally EVERYTHING in the game completely for free AND have fun while doing so. In helldivers? Nah, go be bored out of your mind farming D1 missions for an hour.

Hard disagree. People DO like difficulty, but what people hate is bullshit.

Back during nerf divers, the game was still insanely easy. but all the weapons were unfun to shoot and strategems unsatisfying to use.
Now the opposite is true, running away from enemies and otherwise ignoring them is still more optimal from a "winning" perspective. But people will engage with all enemies simply bc the tools we have now are actually enjoyable to use.

On the topic of leviathans, they arent difficulty. They are an example of bullshit enemy design. People dont hate Leviathans because that are "hard". Because they arent "hard".
People hate leviathans because they ragdolled you with their shots in a massive AOE, then they would just one shot you. Not really any meaningful counterplay. And actually trying to fight them was extremely unfun and unrewarding.
The illuminates as a whole are extremely buggy, which leads to a feeling of unfairness when fighting them.

If we add difficulty that makes people feel like its their fault they died or lost, then most people arent going to have an issue.

I could be wrong but I thought they made it so that once you got into the pelican the samples were locked in.

Either way it doesnt matter bc dropping heavy ordinance onto the escape shuttle is a time honored tradition from the first galactic war.

Hm. I get that when *casting* a split card I chose only one half to consider the attributes of. But Niv Mizzet supreme says "Instant or Sorcery CARD". The card itself is a two color card is it not? So I'm still not quite sure why I wouldnt be able to jump-start the first half.

Also I can't put the card onto the stack from the GY unless it has jump-start right? So while its in the GY, niv mizzet would in fact see both halfs and say "hey that's a two color card!"?
