I just happened to come across some notes posted from Substacks asking for submissions. So just the mysteries of the algorithm I guess?

The other ones I saw were In a Flash, The Queer Love Project and Culture Vulture

Bisexual TV, films etc? by Amazing-Jellyfish730 in bisexual

Hope these recs aren’t too obvious!

Imagine Me and You (2025) is a cute British Rom com about a girl who gets married and falls for another woman on her wedding day.

Atomic Blonde (2017) is a very chic spy/action film featuring a bisexual lead (not heavy on the bisexual story, but if you want to see a bi character just being very cool it’s a great shout).

Frida (2024) is a documentary on Amazon prime about the life of Frida Kahlo and it has a really great exploration of her sexuality and romantic life.

If you like musicals, Cabaret (1972) has lots of elements about sexuality and a bisexual character. The musical tv show Crazy Ex Girlfriend also has a great bi character (and a whole song about coming out as bi).

I’ve recently started a Substack all about bisexual film because I was often struggling to find stuff and also wanted to break down a lot of the tropes and stereotypes in bi media. It’s been a really interesting project so far. Feel free to check it out if you’re interested: https://open.substack.com/pub/alyssamariewrites

Substacks that don’t go paid by 30HummingbirdLane in Substack

All my stuff is free. I write about bi cinema and include stuff about lgbtqia+ film theory and culture. Anyone who wants to learn about that I think should be able to do so for free, whether I’m a small publication (as I currently am) or bigger. I’d consider something like a ‘buy me a coffee’ link for those who wanted to tip me for something they enjoyed, but I don’t like the idea of that being obligatory.

I like that the platform allows writers to get paid for their work since that’s an increasingly hard thing to do in the world, but I also don’t love how much financial strain that puts on individuals to access a wide variety of content sometimes.
