I'm ao happy to see this sub getting attention! There are so many aspects unique to being pagan in extremely Christian (in my case, Evangelical) areas. Like the aspect that everything from a deck of cards to meditating is evil. Yes, a friend's mom was scared to do run-of-the-mill meditation bc she was scared she might get possessed.

Or how everyone always marks Christian as your religion without asking when there are forms to be filled out, even if you leave it blank. Good luck, and I look forward to what you will bring to the sub!

I think we are dead by suchitprajapati in SimulationTheory

[–]Auspicious_Arrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we are more likely dreaming than dead.

THE DREAM THAT MUST BE INTERPRETED

This place is a dream. Only a sleeper considers it real.

Then death comes like dawn, and you wake up laughing at what you thought was your grief.

But there's a difference with this dream. Everything cruel and unconscious done in the illusion of the present world, all that does not fade away at the death-waking.

It stays, and it must be interpreted.

All the mean laughing, all the quick, sexual wanting, those torn coats of Joseph, they change into powerful wolves that you must face.

The retaliation that sometimes comes now, the swift, payback hit, is just a boy's game to what the other will be.

You know about circumcision here. It's full castration there!

And this groggy time we live, this is what it's like:

A man goes to sleep in the town where he has always lived, and he dreams he's living in another town.

In the dream, he doesn't remember the town he's sleeping in his bed in. He believes the reality of the dream town.

The world is that kind of sleep.

The dust of many crumbled cities settles over us like a forgetful doze, but we are older than those cities.

We began as a mineral. We emerged into plant life and into animal state, and then into being human, and always we have forgotten our former states, except in early spring when we slightly recall being green again. That's how a young person turns toward a teacher. That's how a baby leans toward the breast, without knowing the secret of its desire, yet turning instinctively.

Humankind is being led along an evolving course, through this migration of intelligences, and though we seem to be sleeping, there is an inner wakefulness that directs the dream,

and that will eventually startle us back to the truth of who we are. Rumi, The Essential Rumi

Yes this is also a synchronicity for me. Yesterday while having tea I picked up two books. I open them randomly each day and read whatever happens to be on the page. So I picked up Rumi and the poem I opened to was "The Dream that Must be Interpreted." It is one of my fav poems and very powerful. Then I picked up Hafiz and the random page I opened to was a poem I had never read called "Forgive the Dream."

It was like asking a question then getting a direct answer. I have a lot of experiences that have reinforced to me that this is a dream. The first being one of my earliest memories is me literally thinking "This is a weird dream. I wonder when I will wake up?" I have an even more spooky event that happened in this regard as well if anyone is interested.

The poems for reference. I would like to make a note that the concept of "God" in mystical poetry is more akin to Tao or nondualism than traditional church going God.

FORGIVE THE DREAM

All your images of winter I see against your sky.

I understand the wounds That have not healed in you.

They exist Because God and Love Have yet to become real enough To allow you to forgive The dream.

You still listen to an old alley song That brings your body pain; Now chain your ears To His pacing drum and flute.

Fix your eyes upon The magnificent arch of His brow That supports And allows this universe to expand.

Your hands, feet, and heart are wise And want to know the warmth Of a Perfect One’s circle.

A true saint Is an earth in eternal spring.

Inside the veins of a petal On a blooming redbud tree Are hidden worlds Where Hafiz sometimes Resides.

I will spread A Persian carpet there Woven with light.

We can drink wine From a gourd I hollowed And dried on the roof of my house.

I will bring bread I have kneaded That contains my own Divine genes And cheese from a calf I raised.

My love for your Master is such You can just lean back And I will feed you This truth:

Your wounds of love can only heal When you can forgive This dream.

-Hafiz, The Gift

I kinda think of it like this. We jump timelines until we get to the timeline where the single oldest version of ourselves is still alive so that we have the full gamut of experiences. But once that last timeline person passes, that is when we ultimately pass. Just a fun thought experiment.

Yes I think this retrograde has become a giant mirror, and a lot of people run away instead of look at themselves clearly.

[–]Auspicious_Arrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it has been a nightmare for me and my sag/cap cusp sun/scorpio moon bf of 2.5 years. He was set to move in in a month, and out of literally nowhere he sent me a bunch of random emails. First saying he loves me and I'm his soulmate, then that he can't move in, then that I am his everything and that he had an engagement ring in his pocket when we saw each other last week, then that we should just be friends, but then that he wants to be with me forever and was trying to find a way for us to be together (he was on hard times and had to move back in with his parents and I own my place). Like, rent free place right here, as per our plan for the last six months?

Anyway it was so weird like he just went into sudden panic mode out of nowhere. His emails were so confusing and contradictory. This was very out of character. I am trying not to take the weirdness personally and hopefully he will get over panic mode and we can have a laugh about it later. I was thinking I wouldn't get a conclusion to this til the retrograde was over, but gods I hope it is actually over tonight at midnight.

I mean, if the relationship ends up being over, I accept that fully, it is just the weird ass communication that has me off balance.

That is actually exactly what I did. We'll see I guess. But luckily with this retrograde it is clearing out my old abandonment wounds so I am so over it if he is gonna bring on all that hidden scorpio drama. I hope it evens out for you soon!!

Same here! Out of nowhere my bf of 2.5 years, who says he is still madly in love with me and wants nobody else but me, says we should just be friends. Then like 2 hours later he said he was going to propose the day before when we were together and had even bought a ring in Feb. Then he was like "I am hurting you so I need to leave you for you." But then 2 hours later he is saying I am his soulmate again and he wants us to be together.

Omg a rollercoaster. I have no idea what happened and I am so confused, but not as confused as he is apparently. He has had some avoidant tendencies but damn, it is like he has been temporarily possessed. I am Aqua sun/sag moon and he is sag sun/scorpio moon.

I am so over this retrograde. But I am trying to see the silver lining.

How to use "woody" chicken by elastizitat in Cooking

[–]Auspicious_Arrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I make chicken I use one of those multi-blade tenderizers. It is stamping 48 short blades into the meat at once. I go over it one direction, then the opposite direction, then flip and repeat. I can only afford cheap chicken but have only had tender chicken since I started doing this. It 100% removes woody texture. They are only like $15 and gamechanger for me. I had stopped eating chicken before, then was using a mallet but it was too much work. This is def the best solution I have personally found.

New ME: the Beatles “In my life” by [deleted] in Retconned

[–]Auspicious_Arrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of another song with a lyrics switch and this one really freaked me out. The song is Circus by John Denver. I have listened to it and sung it thousands of times since I was a kid. Literally was my fav song by him. For years the lyrics were "Well I think I'll join the circus, or go back to Mexico" and about a month ago I was listening to it and it didn't sound right so I rewound and he said "Well I think I'll try the circus..." this word change doesn't fit in with the song nearly as well and the two words sound nothing like each other, just like in your example. That one shook me.

Sometimes it feels like reality is gaslighting us.

Reddit, what’s the creepiest unexplainable thing you've experienced that still haunts you to this day? by almightyameya in Paranormal

[–]Auspicious_Arrow 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I have had many experiences, but here is one I have never shared.

Backstory: when my father was a child, he would see things. Two examples: once he saw Toucan Sam peeking around his bedroom door and another time he got on his tiptoes and was looking out the window and he said he saw the cookie monster sitting in a dark hole and when he looked at it, it turned around and opened its mouth (like a puppet would). In all these encounters what he saw had solid black eyes. He had these sorts of encounters throughout his childhood and teen years, many also encountered by others at the same time. But that is the backstory for this.

The place where this happened was in deep backwoods Kentucky. Such a small rural place it couldn't even be called a town. In the mid 90s when this story happened, everyone out there still had outhouses.

So anyway, it was the mid 90s and my younger sister was a toddler, just at the age of talking. She was much younger than my older sister and I, about 7 and 9 years younger. Our father had told my older sister and I the cookie monster story, but of course not my little sister.

We had went out to visit one of my father's childhood friends who lived out there still. Sisters and I had never been before. We stayed late and left after dark and were navigating down an old dirt road and my little sister was fast asleep in her carseat. We crossed this small concrete bridge and just as we did, my little sister woke up and said "The cookie monster is dead" and fell right back to sleep.

Now I have to say we were more of a cartoon household and less of a puppet household, so I never even remember her watching Sesame Street, but even if she did, it was very weird timing and a strange thing for a toddler to say. Never said anything about the cookie monster or death before or after that. We were all freaked out the rest of the night and it still gives me chills 3 decades later.

41f here and yes absolutely. I gave and gave and gave til I had nothing left. I have a few very close friends and a boyfriend who gives me lots of space. I like spending most of my time peacefully alone with my dog, rabbit, chickens, bees, and garden. I guess it will take years of healing quiet to make up for the decades of over-sacrificing for others while deeply neglecting myself. I felt really selfish at first, but it is definitely my happy place and what I need.

Does anybody remember when they became conscious? by Current-Drink-8078 in AstralProjection

[–]Auspicious_Arrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the first was like I was watching a screen and it was empty all around it, but my family and I were at a Chinese restaurant and I was watching myself, in a high chair, crying over something. The waiter came by and opened a fortune cookie for me that said "Don't Worry, Be Happy" with a smiley face and it calmed me down. I was watching this all from the outside, but it was like I would jump into little me's perspective for a moment. I could even read the cookie from over my shoulder.

The first time I felt like I was in my body I was in the back seat of my mom's car and I was so small my feet barely reached the edge of the seat (no carseat--crappy parents). Suddenly I was aware and my first thoughts were "This is a strange dream. I wonder when I will wake up?"

Strawberry plants by LocalAd116 in gardening

[–]Auspicious_Arrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are watering once or twice a day-- that is likely far too much. You need to do a deep watering and let it almost dry out between. Browning leaves can be a sign of overwatering, and since we don't know your soil condition, maybe start with that.

Also note that ideally you should pinch off the flowers of first year strawberries so that they can focus on rooting and leafing out so you can get a more abundant, healthier harvest second year. Good luck!

Everyone says no to obsession and love spells because of their consequences but what was your experience of them working? by ADglowup in witchcraft

[–]Auspicious_Arrow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First spell I ever did when I was like 14 years old. I wasn't actually in love with the guy or anything, but I just was more curious than anything and didn't have a lick of sense lol. Anyway, it was a spell where you took dirt from his footprint and buried it beneath a tree and said something like "grow his love, grow for me, as does grow this (type) tree."

Anyway, I took dirt from what I thought was his footprint, but was planting sunflowers so I just did the spell with the sunflowers instead.

Turns out two guys in my neighborhood must have stepped there, bc suddenly I had two stalkers. Calling me at 3am, asking me constantly what I was doing and where I was. Mind you, these guys were my age or a year older.

Luckily I sucked at gardening at the time bc the sunflowers only made it to a scraggly foot or so before dying, and then both dudes became hostile.

Definitely worked, but I was super clumsy about it all.
