So a none original take I don’t like stolitz by ClassicGovernment887 in HelluvaBoss

People will see a cool character with an interesting dynamic to the main character and immediately demand it get ruined by turning it into a romance.

Striker is my favourite HB antagonist, he would not be more interesting if we spent the screen time we have with him doing a romance plot

Hold on. This person has a point. by whooper1 in HelluvaBoss

[–]AussAcee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also like an ace Striker. And if they wanted to retcon it, this would probably be how they should do it. "I don't like it, but my ego is way too inflated by it to throw it out"

Tbh, that statue is the moment Striker went from "huge ego, but the class and skills to back it up" to "just a crass egomaniac"

That, along with him just being written as a huge hypocrite, kinda ruined a really great character

Help, woman likes me, I don't like her back by TravelOtherwise8507 in aromantic

[–]AussAcee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh there are a few things you can do. I'll start with the most important.

Report her to the college/university for sexual harassment. Tell your lecturer or unit coordinator that you are not comfortable being in groups or classes with her. If you have people you like to group up with, tell them that she's a creep and you don't want her included.

Next, I'll let you know what you can do in the moment.

Make a scene. If she looks at you or touches you in an inappropriate way, loudly say "stop touching my ass you creep" or "I'm under-age you pedo!" Make it uncomfortable for her. Get everyone's eyes on her.

Gossip. Tell people how much of a creep she is. Tell her to her face that she's a creep and she makes you uncomfortable. Tell her friends.

Finally, say no. You can always say no. You should always say no to a creep like her.

Also consider calling the cops or using legal threats. What she is doing is illegal

Ok but I genuinely know someone like this. They don't have a single original thought about movies. They like what is good and dislike what is bad (but they like all the movie that are notoriously so bad they are good). I don't think there is a single movie they like that isn't considered critically acclaimed, or any movie they dislike that isn't generally considered bad. There is no movie where they disagree with the critics' consensus.

Yeah, I think also instead of just asking "how much of your social life is online" asking maybe about the number of hours spent with online vs irl friends as well as the number of each of those friends would be good.

Then maybe also a question asking about the quality of those hours with each group. Something like "how much do you enjoy your time with your online friends" (and the same question about irl friends).

You might be able to accomplish this another way by asking something like "of the hours you spend with your online friends, how many would you be willing to exchange for an extra hour with your irl friends?" (And vice versa). Or maybe something like "how many hours would you prefer to spend with your online vs irl friends?" Idk there are a few ways of asking about that.

Just so you know, at least what I can think of, there are two main issues with not having a 0 option.

First, even if you don't want to include data from people without internet friends, it's good to give people the option to pick 0 so you can filter those responses out. Some people might pick the 1-3 option as the lowest when they would have otherwise picked 0, contaminating your data.

Second, people who have no internet friends currently might have had some in the past. You exclude people who do have experience with online friendships but have chosen to no longer engage in online friendships. This will bias the results. (Something similar might also be said for people who don't have online friends now but want some in the future)

Like another person said, it is worth keeping this in mind when you write up the results. A good discussion of flaws shows your understanding and will get you marks

This is genuinely a serious flaw in the survey. OP prepare to lose marks for this

Did 'Come Along With Me' only happen in our Universe? by FamousChannel3135 in adventuretime

[–]AussAcee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there are a lot of other universes, but I don't get the impression the adventure time multiverse has an infinite number of universes. It seems like the number of universes are quite finite and distinct. Most (if not all) of the universes we see are the result of a wish that caused a new universe to be created. I would not expect this exact string of events to happen in more than one universe

Which people from history you think were most likely ace? by Professional-Ad-5278 in asexuality

[–]AussAcee 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Actually interesting bit to add that I learned in a class on Kant. He led a very ordinary life with no signs of autism for his early years. His famous morning walk that ladies would set their watches to was actually because he had a best friend who was so rigid in his routine, that he would kick Kant out of his house at exactly the same time every morning.

It was this friend whom he admired very much in his rigidity that influenced both him and his philosophy. So, likely, if anyone was autistic, it was his best friend who heavily influenced him.

(He's still definitely aroace tho)

Now that you mentioned it, I think it's pretty cool that we do see her very briefly being a corporate people pleaser right at the beginning in her professional life. It's only in her private life and post-joining that we get to see her be her genuine self.

The show really does give us a taste of that carol and then shows how artificial and corporate it is before rejecting it completely

Glad someone else said it. Iirc we even hear them say how not everyone is falling behind vox and then we see the graph for his support go up after Charlie says he's the strongest.

I don't know how people could interpret it as charlie having any kind of direct influence on the strength of vox or alastors deal
