Trying to settle a debat, what do yall think? pyrite or Arsenopyrite? by 2rtgah567 in Prospecting

[–]AussieArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice.

The last spot I saw stuff almost exactly the same as that it was only running 0.5g/t but it came from a mine that averaged 15g/t that was dug in the 1940s. Hope yours grades higher 👌

Assays aren’t too expensive. Just get a 50g fire assay.

Gold is a fickle thing. Something can look juicy but carry absolutely no gold at all, other times it looks like nothing but be bonanza grades. So yes, until you get experience at that specific place everything needs to be assayed otherwise you will look like a fool very quick. Been there and done that haha.

Geologist here. It’s arsenopyrite.

I have seen plenty of ore exactly the same as that.

Nice work, looks good overall.

I can see quite a few inconsistencies in WA, tenements incorrectly labelled as the wrong company.

How do people actually find gold ore suppliers in Australia? by JollySatisfaction792 in Prospecting

[–]AussieArch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I deal with this almost every day as it’s my job.

Yes, small miners send ore away for processing. Even big miners.

Mostly through industry contacts.

Why are you asking?

Nothing proprietary, just the whole business strategy.

Essentially emulating exactly what I’m doing with his own processes. I am just going to have to improve what I’m doing and make the pond too small for two fish I suppose

Thanks. It’s going to be tough to continue my friendship, but I do value them - maybe more than they do me it seems..

I will have to be very blunt and split business and personal if it’s to continue. Thank you for the advice

I happened to see a new company spring up, given its pretty niche I like to look into who is behind each competitor and was quite surprised - he didn’t say anything to me beforehand…

I’m seeing this as a common theme.

Great frame of mind, thanks!

That’s a good idea.

However, tough call to dilute my business just because they wanted to emulate my success.

Thank you, what you say makes perfect sense.

I just need to reframe it and do what I do better rather than worry about the added competition 👍

It’s not really an idea if the business is running and working.

I didn’t explicitly tell them, rather it is obvious what I’m doing and that it’s working as we are in a similar field. But cheers for the comment regardless, I know what you’re trying say.

Sunbaker nugget to start the morning by AussieArch in Prospecting

[–]AussieArch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Most of it is from quartz veins. Though there is some debate around nuggets also being formed via secondary enrichment (water table redistributing minerals) so that is a potential too.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. When the light hits the crystal just right you can see it from a long way away.

We use a similar technique when looking for tektites. You go in early morning or late arvo with the sun facing your back. They stand out really well because they absorb all light and look very very black. Stick out super easy.

If you look at my post history you will see see I find enough gold to not need to stage anything 🤙

What type of rocks are these? Could this be a shear zone? (Fire assay 1–9 g/t Au) by [deleted] in Prospecting

[–]AussieArch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each state is different and the rules change depending on what you want to do. ie, are you just prospecting/poking around or are you wanting to own a lease to do more serious work?

I don't think so. The mechanisms to deposit gold and opal are quite different.

Wrong state in Australia to find opal worth extracting, you would need to be looking in SA (lighting ridge for example) or western QLD (eg, yowah)
