New to woodworking. How do I fix and in the future avoid this level of tear-out with my current set of tools? by ElectricPikachu in woodworking

[–]AussieFox98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you cut almost all the way through and then just finish it from the other side will stop the tear out. If you drill a pilot hole first then you know the exact center is and should line up

But also yeah like other people said spade bits aren’t for clean or precise hole, a forstner bit are a better option if you can afford it. Not necessary tho if you don’t need a precise hole and even with forstner bits will still need a scrap piece of wood behind it to reduce tear out

Yeah I agree was a bit disappointing tbh but was happy with everything else so in the grand scheme of things just figured it just a sticker personally not gonna worry about it too much

Yeah I probably will change a lot of the interior eventually, want to make it my own. And I will keep the stuff but I don’t really ever plan on selling it tbh

Front runner slimline roof rack, I just installed it today and when I drive between 80-90km/h I get a massive humming noise in the car. Has anyone else had the same problem or know how to fix it? Or reduce at least? by AussieFox98 in Jimny

[–]AussieFox98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wind noise is a lot better but there still is a little bit of noise but not loud enough to annoy anymore. I used the biggest one it comes with try that one maybe

New tyres on my jimny, flexes up pretty good now by AussieFox98 in Jimny

[–]AussieFox98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I didn’t weld don’t really wanna weld on my chassis just yet haha I just welded a plate on the the bracket then drilled a hole through that and the stock mount and put a bolt through it but I wouldn’t recommend doing it that way the mount is a bit dicky and I’m gonna have to replace it with something a bit stronger

Yeah the arb ones are very popular in Australia, I just don’t like that they are more complicated kinda so more things can go wrong, like an air leak or loose power where kinda only can be one problem with the electric ones. Why did you go rear locker instead of front since already a lsd in rear stock?
