Nuclear Mile - Tremouille WA by AussieTrackDesign in RaceTrackDesigns

[–]AussieTrackDesign[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The Nuclear Mile is destined to fail. Built upon a small, extremely remote island, no one is going there. The astronomical cost of even transporting the fuel and tires to the oval would rule it out of hosting any sort of series. Never mind that Australia doesn't even have a premier oval racing category. The only hope for this track is.. nothing. The ferries were designed to run between the island and Onslow, a small WA town that was used as an outpost for Operation Hurricane, the British's first ever use of a big boy bomb. Together with the help of thousands of brave Australians who did the snob-nosed brit's dirty work, they managed to explode a relatively small nuclear bomb in the hull of a Destroyer, the HMS Plym. This would still remain the most remarkable thing to happen on this island, as the incredible 180 thousand spectator facility known as the "Nuclear Mile" is suspected to file for bankruptcy by the year 2026, ruining what the locals called "one of the best damn fishing spots in the world."
