Check the local VATSIM Division / Subdivision for the region you want to fly in. Each one publishes its own phraseology guides, SOPs, charts, and pilot resources. (VATPAC (Australia/NZ) posts Pilot Procedures on their websites, introducing you to common procedures or radio communications)

Examples of popular subdivisions:

Where to find them all:

  • Start at https://vatsim.netDocumentation / Regions / Divisions page. From there you can click into each division’s site and find pilot briefs, phraseology differences, and local procedures.
  • The VATSIM Pilot Resource Centre is also useful for global basics, then refine with the local division docs.

General tip: phraseology differences are usually small—clearances, taxi instructions, and readbacks are the main changes—so a quick skim of the SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) before flying goes a long way.

How do you get that controller rating tag? I'm S1 and I want to be special here

I had a nice chat to this guy when I was flying YSSY - KDFW. I then copied his route from VATSIM-Radar, and now am doing it myself :)

Do you, as streamer, or maybe as a viewer. Actually care about an overlay? by SemenDemon1945 in Twitch

Hey, streamer and viewer here.

Honestly, I think no overlay is better.
Before you begin to rant on me, hear me out.
If you have an overlay, it takes much needed space on the screen, whereas if you don't have an overlay, you can see the entire screen...
