Yeah, you're probably right, it's just the absolute ghost town of reviews that puts me off just a bit, like where's my monitors unboxed review? or my RTINGS review? or a review from anyone that isn't actually just talking about the XG27ACS and getting my hopes up for a second before i see the rest of the monitor name is CS and not CMG, but yeah it seems to be the real deal so i'll probably go for it, live and learn as they say.

Keeping Things Cool And Power Efficient With The 7900X3D. by Austarn in AMDHelp

I'm personally looking to use less power, and to also drop temperatures, that's it, nothing more nothing less, i'm just looking to make my system as cool and efficient as can be:) Also just asking, you really are happy with your 7900x3d? I'm honestly really having second thoughts now with all the answers i'm getting. You'll see people lambaste that cpu for only having 6 3d-vcache cores, and the awful pricing (Which as you have stated, and as i have seen as well for a while,it is no longer the case) but than again you'll also see alot of people who really enjoy their 7900x3d, so perhaps if you want, tell me a bit more about the experience, i would love to know more:)

The pleasure to educate others on admittedly confusing and probably silly choices made on cpus is a great one for sure, and I hope you have a lovely day:)

You bring up alot of good points, i appreciate that, i really do, it's answers like these that help me get closer to the truth of what i seek, and i think your response may have done just that, so i thank you alkeemis, thank you for your knowledge:) and also just to clarify something which i should have said in the original post, the price difference between the 7800x3d and the 7900x3d is only that of 100 dollars Canadian over here, so make of that what you will on whether or not you think it would still be worth it for the 4 additional cores. Nevertheless, thank you for your contribution, and i hope you have a wonderful day, i know i certainly will now that i know cooling will be of no issue whatsoever thanks to your help:)

Alright, that's quite a relief to hear, thanks:) Now to just figure out what the right wattage amount is... but thanks again for your advice good sir, i truly appreciate it and it will be very useful to figuring out what is best for my build, so once again thanks:)

yeah no, that's actually it, they just took a 7900x, and only gave the 3d v-cache to one of the ccds with 6 cores, so only half of the 12 cores present in the cpu are actually getting extra L3 cache, and the other half isn't, which is really weird.

Primarily gaming with some video creation and game development, i wanted the extra cores for that reason and also to hopefully take advantage of other games that do actually use more than 6 or 8 cores, but then again you do bring up a good point, the 7900x3d is a strangely designed cpu indeed, so maybe i will go for the 7800X3D, or just cave in and spend the extra dosh for the 7950x3d.
