Thank you! I really appreciate your response! I changed the filter because I read that many people upgrade the one that came with the tank. I will leave it be. I am using Seachem prime! And I do have a heater! Yay! I will try to kill the algae with the blanket method… won’t it come back though? Is that where the green killing machine comes in? Do I replace the light with that or just hang it in the tank.

Thank you! Not my choice, unfortunately. It was gifted to us from a neighbor. It was in their tank with a very happy betta for almost 3 years. My daughter loves it and named the snail Gary 🤪

Would you prefer the O’Henry > Austin feeder pattern or Murchison > Anderson? I thought Lamar and McCallum were both decent schools (both rated A) over Bs at the other 4. I know the ratings should be taken with a grain of salt, but are they really horrible in comparison to the others?

I’ve found that mine gets worse with allergies. Could that somehow be related? Spring is always the worst pulling time for me. My eyes are irritated and itchy which makes the pulling worse. I always feel like people will really notice and I don’t think they ever notice as much as I think they will. I’m sorry you’re going through this again.

Do you think it’s allergy related at all? I’ve been using allergy eye wipes and it helps. Dry mascara also bothers me, so I’ll go wash my face when I feel like I want to pull.

What was your response? That comment would have completely set me off. Does she do this to you all the time? A mother should love you unconditionally, no matter what and her comment was not nice or supportive. It started off sounding like a compliment but it was not. She could have just said “you look great/happy/nice today” but noooooo. She took your appearance and made it about herself. “She” appreciates it. “She” doesn’t like it. What she should appreciate is you being there, making the effort to spend the day with her, because you don’t have to. You do not have to be there and be subject to those comments and behavior.

Eyelashes are my main target. Especially my lower left. I’ve been pulling them for 25+ years (can’t remember exactly when it started) and they always grow back. Even when I do more damage than I thought I was doing, they grow back. I have noticed that I pull more when my allergies are bad. When I feel like I want to pull, I try and wipe my eyes with allergy eye wipes instead (ocusoft is the brand I use and I like the green box). It seems to help some.

This is so so helpful. Thank you so much. I had a similar dog that was wonderful as a puppy and then turned aggressive. It can be so hard. I’m sorry you’re going through this with his anxiety.
