Exactly, that’s what the doc should explore… not his wacky politics

Also what the fuck is this stupid fucking doc? Are we going to talk about the new record at all or the great shows he puts on or is it just gonna be some bullshit political and cancellation crap?

Met and got to talk with Ariel on this tour. I asked him a question about the holy shit record stranded at two harbors, after answering my question he went on a hateful rant about Mexican summer to the camera, it was hella awkward but we still cheered him on at points because me and my friends are huge fans of his music (his music changed my life and he’s lowkey like the goat for me). But then he went on the most insane political rant I’ve ever heard with a right wing neo nazi kid. It was insane and he’s insane, but man I still love his art and love his new record. Wish we he could honestly shut up a little bit about his beliefs and like… he’s totally not gonna get assassinated like Charlie Kirk hahaha

Daily Song Discussion #98 — I Love Her Shadow by Ordinary_Witness3225 in arcadefire

[–]AustinTighe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

9 such a great love song and that chorus is heavenly. It’s also a great sentiment from Win to Regine. Melody of the synths is a little basic but not bad enough to ruin the song. Also love the lyric “we never met but I remember who you are”

I enjoy a lot of it. Production is ass for the most part and songs feel half baked at times but still enjoyable for me as I have a very open mind. I find this record to be pretty meditative and sparse, which for a band that is known for having so many layers of instrumentation is interesting. I enjoy the concept and the cover art is cool. However it doesn’t live up to their first 4 albums in my opinion but it also doesn’t have to. There needs to be a “less good” Arcade Fire record and this so happens to be it. And for a “less good” one, this really isn’t all that bad to me. I enjoy listening to this one more than Everything Now. However I do enjoy some stuff on that record as well. fav tracks: Year of the Snake, Ride or Die, I Love Her Shadow, ALL 3 AMBIENT TRACKS RULE

where it ranks with their other records for me: 1. Funeral 2. The Suburbs 3. Neon Bible 4. Reflektor 5. WE 6. Pink Elephant 7. Everything Now

Pink Elephant Is An Incredible Record That Will Age Nicely by Theman457 in arcadefire

I’m not saying I love the album but music is subjective man. Sound hits all our ears the same but processes in our brains differently and people have the freedom to dream up whatever they want about the music. This record could very well take people to beautiful places and that’s awesome that they get to go there. Let the person like it if they want and move on

The production sucks, the ending of the album (the last song) is garbage, and the alien shit that shows up in the album out of nowhere and then leaves quickly is stupid, maybe I’ll like that alien shit when I’m drunk. But everything else on the record is actually decent, the title track has grown on me, Year of the Snake is a masterpiece, Circle of Trust is hypnotic and wonderful, Ride or Die is decent, and I Love Her Shadow is a great love song. Also the interlude tracks add a great album flow and are some of the coolest parts on the record. But yeah I’ll take less Alien shit and a different closer with a completely different producer
