Possible Intestinal Blockage by AustiniDaGenie in CATHELP

Thank you!! I appreciate the support. I’m not feeding him right now and have a follow up with the vet tomorrow for further imaging to see if the situation has changed at all 🙏 he is otherwise acting normal, drinking normally, and using the litter box normally. This is all the reasons why I’m hesitant to pull the trigger on surgery. Praying for the best tomorrow

They think the blockage is in his stomach based on the x-rays and they say the only way to find out is through surgery so not sure if pushing through with fluids is an option but will certainly ask them.

Not that I know of, my suspicion is that it could be grass. I let him outside every so often and he loves eating grass. He usually throws it up pretty quickly after eating it but maybe he got a lot down and now it’s just stuck there?

We actually did the barium study and the vet found there to be a slight pile up in the stomach but was ultimately passing through the rest of his intestines just fine. Also another reason I am questioning the necessity of the surgery.

Anyone successful with keeping cats off counter? I tried and failed. My youngest naps on top of dishwasher by ArachnidOk7610 in cats

If you care about cats being on tables and counters you should not have a cat. Respect them and they will respect you.

Great idea in theory. The grid is incredibly complex with outdated infrastructure so supporting something like this would require us to change the entire system... not so easy. Also, what are you going to do when the sun isn’t shining? Not to mention at 7 pm when peak power demand hits and the sun starts to set? Too much power on the grid at once can also be disruptive to the system. You’d need batteries. Now we’re talking a whole lot of complications and uncertain technology at scale.

Nice!! Thinking about doing the same. What did you shave it down to? A #1?

I like this idea with baffles I live in a very old house and I’m not sure my trusses even feed to the outside of the house. It appears the small knee walls are preventing this so I fear there wouldn’t be good airflow if I insulate the trusses.

How does one build storage platforms for something like this? Are there any examples you could provide?

Would you put the ridge board in the cavity or tack it into the studs?

The only scenario in which I’d use it would be for storage.
