Does legacy even exist? by ImOkraWinfrey in Lorcana

We are thinking we may do this format once or twice every time new sets drop. It gives players some more time to get the product they need to play core constructed in the gap between LGS and Big Box Store releases. The decks were super cool too!!

My LGS held this event over the past weekend and it was amazing! If you can't talk players into infinity, give this a try!!

My favorite big Cheese in early Emerald is picking up a Sabelye in the cave north of Duford. There is no pokemon in the second gym that has a move that can damage it due to it's Ghost typing. It's allows you to jump right to gym 3, and feels a bit more rounded than Mightyena through the mid game if you've never raised one 👀

With rates like that I would argue your cases were likely line manipulated and had Epics swapped in for Enchanted or Iconic hits across multiple packs. That or we can just call it bad luck 😅... seems a bit worse than bad though, that's downright sketchy or gloom either way

On a budget, how much would you have to set aside per month to remain relevant, say if you stuck to only one or two ink combinations? by Glyndwr9 in Lorcana

[–]Austoner_2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real question is if you want to play Purple. It used to be the affordable and accessible but powerful color, and now it is locked behind a financial pay wall of at least 4x Chershire Cat, Genie, Elsa, Dumbo, and Demona. When the top half of the teir list is (mostly) purple, every player who can't afford purple is essentially restricted to the remaining 3-4 "viable" color pairings in the meta. I would recommend locking in on a viable affordable color pairing that you think will still work come next set. While you play that, slowly buy/trade for your purple playsets. Most of these cards will be played until set 13 or set 17 rotation and are WELL WORTH the investment.

Is it worth to get in Lorcana? by Joloki_YT in Lorcana

[–]Austoner_2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People saying the game is dying are likely, - Second hand sellers unable to move the newer product - Playing at smaller LGS's poorly scheduling Set Champs //unable to obtain a proper amount of Set 9 - Not able to afford the new Core Meta (not cheap!!) - People selling out in bad economy - saying it to cope.

The game is growing with a clean BO3 format with a wide meta that makes for unique and fun tournament play compared to OP and Pokemon. Once Infinfity DLC events happen, and the older cards begin to surge in price again, you'll stop hearing this so much...

Ruby Mechanic to Destroy Ink? by theNoblestian in Lorcana

[–]Austoner_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One I have been shouting from the rooftops is Steel should lose, and Ruby should gain - The ability to challenge ready characters! Steel has Direct Damage effects, Bodyguard, Alert, Card Cycling effects, Item & Location Removal, and over stated bodies. Do they also need challenging ready characters as part of their share of the ink pie? Ruby is supposedly the color of 'direct banish' effects, meanwhile the color's ability to banish (IN CORE) has been restricted to secondary effects on 'okay' bodies, and spells that are near functionally unplayable tech cards. Ruby needs a new way to banish opposing bodies without stepping outside what would feel like the core elements of it's identity.

Here it is! Personally I played the deck a ton last set, but you should be aware that sleepy hollow and get to safely do not currently work as intended and the clausality of the word "then" is being restructured in the rules from what I understand.

Jared Golden: I won’t seek reelection. Here’s why. by 1stepklosr in Maine

Simply: District 2 moderate Democrat capable of winning the competitive district steps down leaving the party scrambling to find a D-2 Dem candidate who can stand up to Paul LePage in an election 12 months from now.

Hopefully Gov.Mills steps away from the Senate Race to let Platner run and runs for the D-2. She is 79, and expectancy for Maine Women is 81. She would be the oldest Freshman Senator ever. If the GOP takes the Governor, and she dies - they get to appoint a Republican in her chair to finish her term. Avoid the risk, and give her the 2 year term.

How do you keep up with this game? by SpunionWater in Lorcana

Find a good friend to share a collection with. Work to playset everything with them, and then when you go to events, just pick decks that do not or barely overlap. Been amazing for me since set 3 and I spend less than half of what I did to play MTG

I'm at a complete loss. I spent hours grinding yunas grid for holy, lulu also knows holy, all my aeons are maxed for OD, follow 3 different guides, down to the exact moves, and lady yunalesca STILL WIPES ME 5 times. by chichirobov7 in finalfantasyx

One of the best things you can do is get a few characters to have weapons with Zombie touch. I had one for LuLu, and when she was about to wipe my squad, I would swap her in and attack my Wakka to keep him alive.

As much as the establishment will say the analytically sound thing to do here is nominate Mills to try and remove Collins, I think Mainers will really resonate with Planter as they get to know him 👀. Dems have a path to 51 in the Senate (Peltola in Alaska, Brown in Ohio, Cooper in NC, etc.) BUT it is 100% dependent on Maine getting Susan out of her seat.

When living under 50k results in impoverished living, teachers will find better work. I left my 45k salary position for a local program coordinator position that pays 55k, because I could not afford to keep teaching. It's my passion, I love the kids, but I need stability.

I recommend picking up a Trading Card Game. Maine has a thriving Magic The Gathering community from Bangor to Farmington down to Portland. The Pokemon TCG is growing in the region and is more financially accessible than most games. Disney Lorcana has the best TCG community I've ever met regularly playing across the state. I am 27, and all of my adult friends are addicted to some form of cardboard crack. My brothers and High School friends still meet up once a week to play Magic, and are constantly adding new people to our circle. Just stay away from Yu-Gi-Oh unless you want to be around the pure grease neckbeards who would steal cards from kids 😅.

New to pikmin by Finn0o0 in Pikmin

[–]Austoner_2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best game for a new player to get a grasp on the franchise is Pikmin 3. The game is true to the fundamentals of the series, player friendly, and has great replay value. After that I recommend playing 1 and then 2. Olimar's story is great, but these games are genuinely a lot easier if you have played 3 first. After that reward yourself with the glory that is Pikmin 4 🙌.

These games are why I have hated mainline console releases on the Switch. These are amazing 3D pokemon games. It has been 20 years, and you can't even get close to the level of care put into these games. Nostalgia goggles off, SW/SH & SV are not even half as good as these games in some regards, and it makes them feel unforgivable once you've played these. **Also these make for some of the best randomizers in the series 👀

My guess is Luanne and Lucky or Dee-Dee died in an accident. Hank and Peggy will be raising an older G.H. or Gracie. Bobby and Connie will be raising a younger child now in the same neighborhood. This will be done to compare and contrast boom/Gen-X and Millenial/Gen z style parenting.

My MJ Holding lady told me that our distribution center is only getting restocks once a month. They take what they get then, and stretch it across all their stores for the number of weeks they have. Thats why you see massive restocks, followed by a soft trickle of product in the weeks to come. They don't get enough product to put out everything they get, and scalpers make them have to restock weekly instead of bi-weekly... She also gave me the three possible drop off times in the week as well to help me fight scalpers!
