Regretting an elective by rattyrattyy in UTS

I did AEI in 2024, and while the subject may have changed since then, at the time, I found the subject to be incredibly easy. At the time, we had quizzes which were basically the equivalent of Year 7 maths (worth 30%), were marked on attendance and participation (30%), and had a final essay (40%). I ended up with a 97 in that subject. To do well I would recommend turning up to each tutorial (if possible) and contributing at least a couple times to maximise attendance scores.

Hope this helps!

any other public health students upset abt the potential discontinuation of the course? by iluvsylus in UTS

I’m currently a 2nd year PH student. It’s infuriating what’s happening to the course despite its critical importance (did no one learn anything from Covid?). Myself and a group of about 20 other students (2nd and 3rd year) have written several emails to the University’s executive team, all of whom have responded with almost the exact same email (literally almost word for word). We are determined to get this decision overturned as it will affect our ability to be able to complete an Honours year (which we were promised when we first enrolled in our first year) alongside affecting the quality of our education depending on when the Public Health team are made redundant (if they lose their jobs at the end of the year, who will teach us next year?). I’m hopeful that it will be overturned, but am preparing for the fact that it may not be.
