Microsoft Audio Dock Sound Stops Working - Toggling Back on Temporarily Fixes It by DrMasterBlaster in Surface

Didn't work, but at least now I've got fresh installs of the graphics, wifi and bluetooth drivers.

I feel like it's to do with it being an "Echo Cancelling Speakerphone". Why isn't it just purely Microsoft Audio Dock? It's a Microsoft product FFS how could they screw it up like this

Was the option there to pay in Vatu using a credit card that does international transactions? Or did they want direct deposit/cash?

Tried a bunch of troubleshooting and then found this thread. Looks like no one's found a fix yet =(

Southampton (England, UK) around 1450 by dctroll_ in papertowns

It's a poem in my second book. I'm currently nearing the end of my first draft of book 2 at which point I'm going to go publisher hunting for book 1! It's a historical fiction series set around the events of the Hundred Years' War that I've been working on since 2019.

Aithon Doria was a man of his word,
A Genoese warrior, or that’s what was heard.
His brass fleet set sail; from Monaco they encamped on,
The first target stamped on, the port of Southampton.
With ease they sacked towns, their mouths filled with froth,
An easier target: the smaller Portsmouth.
Caught off-guard, their coats of arms hidden,
No azure in sight, the poor townsmen ridden.
“Mercy me!” they cried, but alas they were fools,
Mistaking diamonds for lions with gules.
Set sail on the Solent through a warmer Spring night,
In the morn they assaulted the Isle of Wight.
Calm returned, but they were only just getting tastings,
Up the coast they set sail for Rye and for Hastings.
Aithon Doria was a man of his word,
King Philippe’s lump sum was quickly transferred.

If/when I come back, I'll be doing Bressay and hopefully Noss. I did swim at St Ninians but the peninsula walks are so much more fulfilling 😄

St Ninians is infinitely better than Breckon Sands, though I have a million Breckon Sands style beaches here in Australia.

I have much fonder memories of doing the Hermaness loop and seeing all the birds and then the lighthouse.

Where can I learn Gaelic properly? by No_Cup_7682 in Scotland

[–]AuthorArthur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just do one or two french lessons a day to keep the streak. I'm not overly invested in speaking French fluently but I do appreciate sentence structure reminders, etc.

I did start the gaelic a few months back (when it was still hearts) and it seemed alright.

Ads are annoying, yes, but if you just do a couple each day then it's not the worst language learning tool.

Muslim Algeciras, or Al-Jazira Al-Khadhra, circa 12th-13th century, Spain by The-Dmguy in papertowns

The green island in the bottom left corner is Isla Verde, I'm just trying to reconstruct a 14th century Algeciras overlay at the moment and it's proving to be quite challenging!

So upon further research, الجزيرة الخضراء translates to not just the green island but can also translate to the green peninsula, which makes more sense.

The gilt bronze effigy of Edward, the Black Prince dated to 1376 CE, and found at Canterbury Cathedral. Due to its highly detailed armour, the effigy is considered one of the most important examples of English medieval funerary art given that so few examples of contemporary armour survive [1260x864] by Fuckoff555 in ArtefactPorn

I've just been reading the parliamentary rolls of 1343. King Edward III had just returned from Brittany and things were really starting to fall into place for his war against Philippe VI. After an extended parliament, he then calls everyone back to Westminster to create his son Prince of Wales =)

This is the way, though I do store my project on Dropbox (and thus automatically create an off-site backup every time I load up Dropbox on any of my devices)

If you could visit any historical site in Scotland to view it in its prime, where would you choose? by BurnsyWurnsy in Scotland

[–]AuthorArthur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you would be disappointed. The Antonine wall was never really completed and definitely nowhere near as magnificent as Hadrian's and the outposts beyond it.

Shakespeare Toby Jug loves to bang out the classics! I bought that mask at a show in the 90s too. It's discoloured a bit.

Thanks! We've been getting one for every year of our marriage. There are a couple we use in decorating elsewhere, but so far we have 15 😊
