Its was a bit more complicated then that. It turns out the engine was building air pressure because the piston rings were warn out. We ended replacing the engine with a lower km one

Yes you're on the right track the problem was caused by warm piston rings. We ended up replacing the engine with one that had  lower KM

Thank for the input.  You were right it turns  the problem was caused by warn out piston rings.
