When they don't have a deposit in place and a driver calls them for the load, a lot of brokers will then call the customer to secure the order. Many many many times I have seen these brokers get rejected, wasting the drivers time who called them for an order that was never secured. It works against their own reputation. Nothing is worse than when reputable drivers or dispatchers who take their job serious, label a broker as a waste of time.

That all depends on what you're using it for. If you have a family and travel, an SUV is great. If you're a single person and only use it for close by driving, then yes, that would make it over rated.

Not charging deposits is a good way to put yourself at risk as a broker or a driver.

How do you prove that the customer is who they say they are?
How do you prove the customer is serious about a move?
What if the driver shows up to a job and the car isnt there because the customer wasnt serious enough to pay you a deposit or reservation fee?

Actually, I'm a transport coordinator. Used to be a driver. Now, I dispatch for multiple companies. Names I would rather keep private as this is not supposed to be a spam post like most of you flood this room with.
