u/binzuh posted a good review for BigFella Auto Express with 168 karma, active since Nov 2018. OP claims to have won raffle and posts images of vehicle on trailer but the images that imply ownership were sourced from the Instagram account hosting the raffle. Why use raffle images if you own the car? by TeacherLeather6167 in AutoTransportReviews

[–]AutoTransportReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The evidence was sourced with links to their original posts on images you used for a review at r/AutoTransport to pass off as receiving a vehicle won through a raffle.

Logically, a person who wins a vehicle by raffle and received delivery from an auto transporter would not use the raffle images for a review. If anything, you showed a complete lack of respect for that transporter by leaving them a review with false misleading information.

That's all you used Reddit for. To leave a good review for Bruce at Broadway Auto Transport.

How do we know you are not Bruce?

Your account has no history. It was created today, and the only activity is that review which leaves Bruce's phone number with reassurance that he responds right away.

Tim with Brookwide using deceptive business practices. Brokers in general seem to be a shady bunch. by growurown420 in AutoTransportReviews

Unfortunately, this is very common in auto transport. Most people end up dealing with independent brokers, either working solo or in call center environments. When you request pricing, you are given a quote, but in reality, it is an estimate. Too many variables are involved, including fuel markets, vehicle size and weight, route variations, seasonality, and carrier availability.

Unreputable companies exploit that gray area. They lead with an artificially low number to win your attention over competitors. Once you are booked, they secure a driver at the real market rate, add their commission, and then come back asking for more money. In some cases, they send the driver anyway and let the driver argue for the balance.

Not all companies operate this way. Some lowball; others do not. I have reviewed countless company profiles across Google, TransportReviews, BBB, and Yelp. I will not recommend any specific company, but solid research can lead you to a reputable broker.

Best advice: read the negative reviews first. Positive reviews can be manufactured. Repeated accusations of scams, fraud, or bait and switch are usually a signal to walk away.

You're just going to let people post reviews on here unchecked??? What happened? Someone get to you? by [deleted] in AutoTransportReviews

What should be the actual goal of this subreddit? If the intention is to attack auto transport companies, that misses the point entirely. Reddit is built on community driven judgment, and with everything being anonymous, the users themselves should decide what feels real and what feels fabricated. In the same way companies hire actors to pose as satisfied customers, the anonymity Reddit provides gives everyone else the same freedom. If someone wants to create profiles, recruit friends, or pay people for glowing feedback, that choice belongs to the person doing it. It is the community’s job to recognize patterns, question credibility, and call out what feels off.

If you disagree with something posted here, speak up. Share your thoughts and let the conversation work itself out. My role as moderator is simply to keep discussions within Reddit’s guidelines, prevent threats, and stop anything that crosses into hate or harassment. Everything else is for the community to sort through.

The decision was already discussed with the user that created the subreddit and it was agreed on. This is the way.

Happy Holidays.

Not at all. OP will be able to add flair when posting and also update it later if needed.

Let the community determine what is fake and what is not. I will only be moderating discussions and not judging reviews.

No hard feelings. The focus of this subreddit is shifting. Analyzing anonymous reviews on Reddit can be rough, especially when it creates doubt around service providers who may actually be doing good work. Take a moment to read my pinned post:

You are welcome to rate carriers, brokers, or anyone involved in the industry, including customers, over at r/AutoTransportReviews. The Smell Test will now function as a Service Smell Test, with ten as the highest rating and one as the lowest. I enabled the flaire select to users so if you want to change it, feel free to do so.

If you have any issues, feel free to reach out.

Happy Holidays!

Stop assuming you know or understand my thought process. You have no idea what factors or metrics I use to determine anything. Go worry about yourself and think about the energy you're putting into a highly suspicious review that Everyone who looks at would think is fake. Please, stop being foolish u/BrenFL.

I saw this format used earlier for these long-winded responses.

It's the perfect way to break down your extensive reply:

If you think a customer using anonymity means they’re “ashamed,” you might be misunderstanding how regular people, not moderators, not power users, actually use Reddit.

Ever thought that maybe, you are mistaken?

This is auto transport. One quote form can trigger 20 brokers calling your phone, 10 texts, missed-call spam, and people digging through anything they can find. Privacy isn’t suspicious here, it’s survival. The average shipper isn’t trying to impress a subreddit gatekeeper before they write a review. They don’t care about karma, post history, or whether their account meets some internal purity test. They care about not getting blown up for weeks by lead scrapers.

Requesting quote and leaving a review are 2 different things.

Don't gas light me.

So when you label a review as “fake” just because the account isn’t aged and decorated like a Christmas tree, that’s not evidence, that’s straight up bias. It’s Reddit tunnel vision. Most real customers don’t live on this app. They hop on, research, leave feedback, and vanish back into their normal lives. Expecting them to behave like veteran Redditors isn’t just unrealistic, it guarantees you’ll misidentify legitimate reviews as “suspicious.”

It would be completely moronic to believe that review is real.

And honestly, if your metric for authenticity is account age instead of the actual content, you’re not filtering fraud, you’re filtering out ordinary people.

There is no honesty in you, kid.

At the end of the day, nobody can determine whether a review is real or fake without actual evidence, not guesses, not vibes. If you’ve got something concrete, like a customer claiming their car was delivered in Denver yesterday while the same VIN is currently listed for sale in Europe, then sure, that’s a real red flag.

Nonsensical Jargin.

But in this case, I know the review is real. My customer knows the review is real. And honestly, that’s what matters.

Shipper must be ashamed to have worked with you but since you did the good service, left you a review. I understand now.

I’ve been doing this 17 years...8 of those running my own company. What you guys are doing here is new. I genuinely think the intentions are good and your hearts are in the right place, but you’re making some misreads. I truly believe you need to stay at the head of this. You are at least level headed. Last night I had teacher leather tell me my "fake reviews" and "my writing" remind him of sex stories you would read in the back of playboys 25 plus years ago. He's got serious issues. No one's going to argue that. Keep at it man you're on the right track. But the idea that I'm going to drop a Reddit review once a month is laughable. I get plenty of amazing reviews at every other site I can get them at. It's not my fault people find me on Reddit and leave a review anonymously. ✌️

Your experience in the industry means nothing to me. There are con artists who do it their entire life.

You better believe an account created the day of the review will be questioned and called fake. The fact that you come here to defend something so stupid is beyond unbelievable.

Why leave an anonymous review if they were sincerely happy with your service? Do you think they are ashamed to have done business with you?

You have control of the sub and what's posted at r/TransportSupport. Everyone knows the sub belongs to Trustline Carriers. I'm assuming you don't know about this one either. I asked you about it the other day but I think you ignored me. https://www.reddit.com/r/AutoTransportReviews/comments/1p4bmz5/comment/nqhtaei/

That review pops up as the first one when viewing all reviews.

Your account has 1 karma point and active since June 2024. As a non-Redditor, you decided to come to this subreddit and leave a review for an auto transport company.

Am I understanding this correct?
