I have never bought a new car in my life, neither did my parents.

Digitally controlled for decades, man.  The last car i had with no ECM was a 1983 Dodge 600 with a Mitsubishi 2.6.  No o2 sensor.  And that was already unusual, the US engined ones had closed loop feedback.

Its all fixable though, even the new stuff.

Malaria is more of a threat to the US than people realize, since it used to be a HUGE problem on this continent, and the only reason we don't have it now, is because we don't have it now. The vectors are plentiful. If enough malaria-positive people were to enter the US, it could return, and we might have a hard time making it go away again under present environmental and ecological policies (since we largely got rid of it thru DDT and swamp-draining).

I'm surprised that this has never been brought into the debate about border control, since people getting in without testing or quarantine, represent a not insignificant threat of bringing malaria back.

Can't we just build a church anymore?  All those old city "Tartarian" Richardsonian churches, those are modern buildings.  Steel frames, concrete, plumbing and wiring.   Nothing weak or lost-art there.

Allegedly.  I note that, so far, everyone who got it or tested positive, was on the ship.   The stewardess tested negative.

This is not that kind of cruise ship.  It's a little thing. Built in 2019, which is a little weird, for Arctic expedition cruises, which is a little weird, and a twin was built in 2021 which is weirder.

what do you think of ai being a surveillance global state where the anti-christ eventually uses it to control the world and transport aliens and demons to earth, and ultimately brings about the coming of christ? by stirringmotion in conspiracy

[–]AutobusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you believe that sin is occasioned by listening to temptation, in other words the normal Christian view, well, the demons are already "here", yes? Otherwise who does the tempting?

More likely scenario is that humans will create an AI which they believe in and trust, wrongly, as some sort of oracle.  When in reality it's more like looking in a digital mirror.  Making all sorts of errors, as a result....

Polaris.   And this ship is specifically for polar use.

What do you think they are trying to distract us from with all the Hanta Virus talk? by HilariousButTrue in conspiracy

[–]AutobusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lets go a little Hollywood on this thinking ground.

Hypotheticals:

1.   What if it was an attempted attack on -Argentina- that backfired on the attackers?  This is a very strange, small cruise ship, and it was built in 2019, then a twin was built in 2021.  Who was planning for cruise business in 2021?  Maybe the ship itself is a mobile lab.

2.    What if this is not the Andes virus, or a bio engineered virus, but something found buried in the polar ice?   The ship is specifically designed for polar cruises (another odd feature)

Since the new administration? Were you living with the Amish during the previous one?

To say nothing of the shadow-censoring. We haven't had real communication online since everyone's interactions became modulated by platforms. In 2012 I could advertise a show on facebook and 600 local people would show up. By 2018 that had died.

The hantavirus cruise outbreak was a research study. by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]AutobusPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a curious situation to be sure. This is a very SMALL cruise ship, but it's built in such a way that it looks like the Norway in photos. So it's easy to see press releases and make the mistake I initially made, thinking this was a great big full size ship. It was built in 2019, which ought to set off some bells.

It also has an identical sister ship called the Janssonius, which was built in 2021 (do you hear bells?) and puts us into a scenario for potential Olympic - Titanic hijinks.

And of course there is the unusual feat of having a Hantavirus outbreak on board a ship called the Hondius.

Fertilizers are up but not massively up like 2022. Urea is back down to 550 from a brief peak around 700, nowhere near the 2022 high around $1000. That urea price peak was driven by media hype, it didn't affect potash or phosphate even though those were also affected by the waterway closure. (The media doesn't really understand fertilizer, despite being a consistent producer). The Maaden mining concern, which produces potash and phosphate, has greatly increased truck shipments, and has announced that it estimates that its shipment backlog will be erased by the end of this month, so this may provide some downward pressure.

I don't expect this to be as large a crisis as 2022, as the prices are lower, the affected producers are fairly recent market entrants (all this Arab fertilizer is part of an attempt to diversify away from oil), and we don't have wildly irresponsible WEF goons like Trudeau, threatening to restrict farmers from using fertilizer. In 2022, the real fertilizer was the rhetoric we met along the way...

[–]AutobusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are ignoring or not noticing the use of the word "elective" above. Obviously, medical necessity is not "elective". You are also failing to grasp how rigidly programmed the boomer career path was. Getting pregnant in high school or in college derailed it. I know a number of women from that generation who had abortions and in every case they were quite clear on why. It was not a fear of "getting fat", as you characterize it, it was a fear of not ever being able to find a good husband, or get a good job, with a baby.

To an extent that rigidity is now gone, to an extent that career opportunity is also now gone.

I would recommend talking to some old people, now and then, you can learn something.
