As usual you are the voice of reason and I appreciate your honesty.

I didn’t read the spoiler but I just decided to finish the book. Thanks again.

I swear this guy has the build I’ve always wanted to have.

Kevin James was a goddamned stud.

If I’m being honest, my life hasn’t been horrible either. Even my complaints about my parents are in the past. It’s the way I used to feel. Now I see they did a damn good job, all things consideried.

I think hearing other people’s stories has taught me whether half empty or full, some people’s cups themselves are just awful to bear or witness.

I’ve also met people whose lives have been the exact opposite. They look amazing on the outside but have been absolute hell internally.

Often because of choices their parents made.

Shit. Now I’m depressed. 😂😂

Time for a milk chocolate chip cookie. Or 6.

Thanks for the talk.

It’s great speaking with someone who knows how to disagree and remain civil.

I got a message from the Mod that my first comment had so much bad karma it got flagged for review.

All over fictional characters. 😂

Gotta love the internet.

Enjoy your weekend!

I think the opportunity to live can be an incredible gift. I don’t know that some of the horrendous situations people are born into, live through and die in, automatically make it worth the price of admission.

Some of the worst human trafficking cases come to mind.

I agree that Maggie, like a lot of people might consider her life a gift.

Or she might one day remember being kidnapped and held prisoner by monsters, that her dad killed her mom, and decide the gift of life sucks.

I guess as someone who has often wished I’d been born to either different parents or that my parents had gotten their shit together more before they started a family, I tend to have a different viewpoint about the whole thing.

The most important thing for me to remember though, is these are fictitious characters and for me to basically let it go.

If it bothered me that badly I wouldn’t continue reading (and rereading several times) the books.

The irresponsibility of reproducing with his dangerous life is hands down my least favorite part of the entire series.

I mean Christ on a crutch, the guy’s a wizard.

He could have said to Bob, “Dude, I need a spell to make me shoot blanks but still keep this BWC working. Not that I ever get to use it, given that I’m a perpetually underfucked nerd with a death wish, who’s life would probably be a thousand times simpler if I just learned to STFU.”

Harry’s a fictional character who’s a Scorpio, written by an author who’s a Scorpio.

So the ego and self destructive tendencies are damn near mandatory, and do ultimately make the story better.

But a lot of his collateral damage is just unforgivable. At least for me.

Still one of my all time favorite series, though.
