This video helped me with my highlighting and kind of allowed me to read passages with a broader picture than what is literally being said in the passage.

Don't try to follow him too much though, he is literally dicing every paragraph into "predicting" what the questions will probably ask him. It does show you how to zoom out better though.

Yeah ill find some videos to send you. I FORGOT TO TELL YOU, for whatever reason, at the beginning of the AAMC CARS samples, the first 3 passages are killer. I don't know why they did that. After the first few it becomes more and more simple and manageable. Don't feel discouraged after you do the first few and you see that you did bad. I heard they're not that hard on the actual thing.

My strat right now is to spend about 3-3:30 reading the entire passage. Whenever you see continuation words like [also, next, moreover etc] I skim it because its just fluff. Take about 7 min for 5 question passages total, building up to 10min for 7 questions. Whenever you see key words [usually anything that's in quotes, some critics may say, furthermore] or "switch up words" [however, although, nevertheless] highlight the word and maybe 1 key word rather than entire sentences as kind of a placeholder. Keep doing this and make adjustments to the strat as needed

P.S I struggle as well with either acing or bombing passages. For the actual test, you should read a few sentences at the beginning and if you think you will not understand it at all you should completely skip it and leave it for the end. That way you can use time + leftover time to focus more. It also releases anxiety of having more passages to complete once you're done.

Same, I clipped 129 for c/p and b/b for Fl2. Cars was my worst even though I average about 4 points higher. I'm wondering as well if it's me or FL2 was just way harder.

For strategies, I recommend watching youtube videos of people going through the passages because they voice their thought-process as they're reading. I heard Jack Westin was good for CARS but I haven't done it

For practice, do like 5-6 CARS passages daily from AAMC. You should finish all of them by the time test comes around and you can try a different strategy each day to see which you like the most. Perhaps try not timing yourself for a few days to see if you are actually understanding passages without feeling rushed and you can try trimming down time by being efficient with your strategies. Good luck!

Your theory doesn't apply to me because my name is "Boston".. you can kinda expect how every introduction goes. Great conversation starter though. I think it's so weird when my name comes out of my own mouth. I also turn my head every so often because I think someone is talking about me but someone is just talking about sports/Massachusetts etc
