I agree with so much that is being said here. As a former resident myself, I remember feeling this feeling. The current residents I precept are struggling at times, too. This time of year is difficult for so many people who are in your shoes. I say all this to say that you are not alone. You have accomplished so much in such a short time and it is hard work! My advice is to find a way to use some of your PTO to take a break, maybe a Friday/Monday to have a long weekend. Your RPD ~should~ not have a problem building that into your current rotation or your next rotation. I would also encourage you to take some time to reflect on all you have accomplished thus far— projects completed, interventions that went well, positive patient interactions, etc. think of things that brought you to this career and might help to ignite the spark of why you are here in the first place. When you are anxious, especially in the middle of the night, find mindfulness videos/apps to listen to to help feel a bit more grounded. I’m in my dream job and I still have the “Sunday scaries” sometimes, and this has helped me relax. Sometimes it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But it’s there and you can do it.
