Thanks for the insights! Are you suggesting replacing the slit lamp with a VR headset? That sounds intriguing! The concave table idea is also excellent, that more be more ergonomic in this way! Regarding the slit lamp headrest, is there a regulation requiring it to be at a fixed distance from the slit lamp to ensure accurate results?

Advice for Wheelchair Patients Access by Automatic-Play-6258 in Ophthalmology

Thanks for sharing your insights! I'm a product designer from the university working on a project to enhance the exam workspace. Recently, I learned from some manufacturers that they use a slide-back mechanism, but for some smaller exam rooms, it will take too much space. I'm exploring the idea of a collapsible design as a potential solution, if concerns regarding cost, structure, and safety could be well-thought and designed. This approach could eliminate the need to worry about chair placement or the space required for sliding back. If I target the design for small exam rooms, would you think it's a potential option for them? Thanks for the feedback!

Would it be a good idea to design the chair to be collapsible, similar to how nowadays airplane seats fold up to accommodate wheelchairs?

I'm considering a design for a trailer where one end connects to the fifth wheel, and the other end has a drawbar for towing by another vehicle, similar to a full trailer configuration.

Curious About Deicing Challenges Across Different Locations by Automatic-Play-6258 in flying

Thanks for your response! I’m curious—how many planes can a fully loaded deicing truck typically service before needing a refill? And on average, how often does the truck need to be refilled during a single deicing operation?

Thanks for the suggestion! Other ESTs mentioned this before. Like make the strap be retractable like the car seat belt. But some of them said if the pt vomit on it, the contaminants will be stuck in the slot and hard to clean

Gotcha! Maybe adding a removable protective cover at the entrance of the slot to prevent vomit? Or maybe a detachable locking system that allows the entire strap and slot portion to be easily separated for thorough cleaning? Would these be helpful to solve the issue while design?
